Remember when they swore this could never happen without tearing families out of their homes in the streets?
Turns out most of them just packed up and left on their own. DHS estimates about 2.2 million self-deported, with hundreds of thousands more deported outright.
The border went quiet too. The White House says crossings were down 94% in August, and there hasn't been a single catch-and-release in 16 straight months.
Nobody needed a house-to-house roundup. Once the free stuff dried up and the law meant something again, millions decided on their own it was time to go home.
This is the exact thing the experts swore was impossible.
Funny how fast impossible gets done when somebody actually wants to do it!

For years, just asking a question about Ilhan Omar's immigration story got you branded a bigot and told to sit down.
Now the Justice Department is subpoenaing her own family. The New York Times reports federal agents subpoenaed Omar's sister and other relatives, and DHS executed a search warrant this week and carried boxes of documents out of a home.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro confirmed to Fox News there are several investigations open. The Times says agents are looking for evidence of fraud and false statements in the family's immigration paperwork.
Nobody's been charged, and Omar hasn't said a word. But subpoenas to the family and a search warrant mean this isn't a tweet anymore.
For years they swore this was a crazy right-wing conspiracy.
Funny how the crazy conspiracy ended up with a federal subpoena attached!
