It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Dr. Bruce Martin, a legend in turfgrass pathology and a true friend to the Carolinas superintendent community. For more than 30 years, Dr. Martin advanced turfgrass research, diagnostics, and disease management at Clemson University, helping superintendents across the Carolinas and beyond. His dedication, knowledge, and kindness left a lasting mark on our industry. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and the many lives he impacted. His legacy will live on in the turf he helped grow.

Extreme heat and humidity will be affecting a big part of the U.S. this week and golf course superintendents will be playing defense. If you notice some temporary changes in playing conditions, remember that slow grass is better than no grass!

During this year's #USOpen trophy ceremony, the @USGA started a new tradition: Honoring the host site's agronomy team with the E.J. Marshall Platter. Congratulations to Dave Johnson, director of grounds at The Country Club 👏
