Jalen Duren and his camp reportedly didn’t take well to the Pistons’ $200M offer, per @sam_amick
“Detroit’s most recent offer was a five-year, $200 million deal (no team or player options) that included weight stipulations that were not received well by Duren or his representatives. As of Sunday evening, league sources said there was no change in the talks – either for the team increasing its offer or Duren showing a willingness to take the most recent one. The Pistons are able to extend the qualifying offer deadline unilaterally, but it is unclear if they have any plans of doing so. Duren, who was also named an All-Star during his breakout 2025-26 regular season, is eligible for a five-year, $287 million deal.”

Free agent guard Dennis Smith Jr. has reached a deal with the Miami Heat, his agent Daniel Hazan of Hazan Sports tells me. The Heat have been monitoring the former lottery pick very closely all summer.

Bam Adebayo said he scored less points in a NBA2K game than he did in real life🤣
“I think around 70 something. That’s on rookie mode. Listen I am a Kobe fan so I will not lie to you when I say I didn’t think about what it would be like to score 80 points in a game? And then it actually happened. Manifestation.”

I feel like when people evaluate Chet they just gloss over the fact that he has played with a perennial MVP candidate his entire career. Stop comparing 2s to a 1a alpha. It’s a different planet when it comes to pressure and responsibility.

No excuse for Embiid. He got all the help in the world now.
LeBron on how he made his decision to join the 76ers:
- His relationship off the court with Tyrese Maxey
- Acquiring Jaylen Brown, an unexpected move
- Wants to help Joel Embiid get a ring

I don’t think people realize how entertaining the NBA regular season is going to be. Majority of the teams are decent to very good. National tv schedule is filled with bangers and league pass will have at least 2-3 good games nightly. Pains me to say Adam Silver cooked.

So, Bam needs to get over 20pts per game for the first time, since the other two times, right?
Kendrick Perkins says Bam Adebayo is one of the players under the most pressure this upcoming season:
“It’s time for Bam to step up, the Miami Heat has been loyal to him all across the board. They pay him his money — they never hesitate on that, he finally has help in Giannis Antetokounmpo. I need to see him elevate his game and get over 20 PPG for the first time in this season especially now in a tough Eastern Conference.”
I can’t wait for our guys to prove the media wrong🍿

HoopsHype’s ranks Bam Adebayo has the 6th best center:
“Maybe we’re sleeping on Adebayo a bit by not having him in the Top 5 here, as he’s one of the best two-way players in the league who is just missing a reliable three-point shot to be a true perennial All-Star”
1. Victor Wembanyama
2. Nikola Jokic
3. Karl-Anthony Towns
4. Alperen Sengun
5. Chet Holmgren
6. Bam Adebayo
