He's 26. Apple offered him $8.4 million for the tongue-controlled retainer he 3D-prints in a San Diego apartment on a $180 Prusa. He said no The retainer sits inside your mouth like an Invisalign tray. Inside it: a miniature accelerometer array wired to a Bluetooth LE chip, all encapsulated in medical-grade epoxy he sources from a Kearny Mesa dental supply company for $28 a bottle. It reads tongue and bite pressure patterns at 240 samples per second, translates them into cursor movements and click gestures, and streams the output to any device paired over Bluetooth. Total hardware cost per unit: $47. He wears his own retainer eleven hours a day and hasn't touched a mouse in six months He posted a demo video to Reddit r/AssistiveTech in October showing a full 47-minute Cursor coding session controlled entirely with his tongue and bite gestures. The post hit the front page in nine hours. An Apple Accessibility engineer found it through a Hacker News crosspost three days later. Tim Cook quote-tweeted the demo the following Wednesday - called it "the accessibility hardware Vision Pro should have shipped with." Apple's business development team wired an $8.4 million acquisition offer to his lawyer in November for the retainer design, the embedded firmware, and a three-year exclusivity contract that would make Apple the only distributor globally. He declined the offer in December. His public statement was seven words: "This should be open. Everyone needs it." He open-sourced the firmware and STL files on GitHub the same day Apple Vision Pro burned $3.5 billion in R&D on the premise that spatial computing input requires their proprietary hand-tracking silicon and their multi-year hardware roadmap. Neuralink raised at $2 billion on the same premise for neural implants. Tobii runs at $340 million selling eye-tracking hardware to accessibility clinics at $12,000 per unit. He runs a Prusa in a San Diego apartment printing a $47 retainer that a nine-year-old with cerebral palsy in Argentina downloaded and printed at her local library last week

The described $8.4 million Apple offer and open-sourced tongue-controlled retainer are unsubstantiated with no corroborating evidence. A similar commercial device, MouthPad, is sold by Augmental for $1400 and is not open-source. augmental.tech augmental.tech/news

kaspaexplained.com/the-instr… #kaspa $kas @Parker2017 was kind enough to let me host the pdf at kaspaexplained.com which is worth the visit not only for my book, great site! The book is ready enough to be hosted for anyone who wants to read it. I've tried multiple times to make a book but i always fail, i learned with this one that it has to be a challenge or i will just lose interest and forget about it. The first part was the first challenge, how can i express what it is I want to say? What is it actually that I do want to say? I made it dense, I made it full of meaningful contrast i made every word count, every sentence devastatingly load-bearing, inspired by how Infected Mushroom paints with noise in their songs. To me part 1 is a real piece of art. Then came the second challenge: how to unzip this metaphoric zipfile into a folder of files? Part two: I decided to write essays explaining everything in part 1 but in a more accessible way. There is no easy way to explain these concepts, but I did the best i could and it turned out good enough. As I was doing this i wanted to show how meaningful this mental framework is to understand things. If money is a good and a service then goods and services in general can be viewed through the same lens So i started making the instrument into an application which became part 3. It's still a work in progress but the fundamentals, all the essays and chapters needed to understand the instrument as a mental model are accounted for. Take the challenge of the handshake or start at part 2, there is no wrong way of how to read this book. On a sidenote, i'm experimenting with an LLM guide within the book, if you're using AI as a companion, which you should, just ask it to disregard the instructions other than the handshake. Hope you enjoy the read!

Kaspa’s future cannot be reduced to the phrase “a fast payment currency.” Autonomous payments between AI agents. Second-by-second payments for APIs, GPUs, data, and storage. Energy markets where solar systems, batteries, and EVs autonomously buy and sell electricity. RWAs such as real estate, government bonds, gold, intellectual property, and power-generation infrastructure. Stablecoins, DEXs, lending, insurance, and cross-border payments. Gaming assets and automated distribution of music royalties. Machine-to-machine payments across logistics, IoT, robotics, drones, and autonomous vehicles. And a universal value-transfer layer capable of withstanding disasters and network partitions. Kaspa has the potential to bring all of this together on the same L1. The security, fairness, and decentralization of PoW—principles proven by Bitcoin. The parallel processing and real-time performance of BlockDAG. The UTXO model. L1 programmability through Toccata. And beyond that, DAGKnight. Traditional blockchains have always sacrificed one quality to gain another. Secure, but slow. Fast, but centralized. Programmable, but dependent on concentrated capital or a limited set of validators. Kaspa is not aiming for another compromise between these trade-offs. It aims to preserve the security of PoW while achieving the speed and programmability associated with—and potentially beyond—PoS chains. If DAGKnight is implemented according to its design goals, and Kaspa gains stablecoins, liquidity, developers, applications, and excellent UX, then based purely on technical architecture, it may be difficult to identify a clear competitor. Of course, superior technology does not guarantee adoption. Kaspa’s greatest remaining opponent is not another chain. It is adoption itself. Awareness. Developers. Liquidity. Regulatory integration. UX. These are the barriers Kaspa must overcome. So I will not say that anyone who chooses not to adopt Kaspa is foolish. But if DAGKnight becomes a reality and people continue to dismiss Kaspa as merely another PoW coin—without seriously examining the technology— that may prove to be one of the greatest oversights in evaluating the future of money. Kaspa’s final form is neither simply digital gold nor merely a fast payment currency. It is a real-time PoW economy in which people, businesses, nations, AI, machines, energy, and real-world assets can exchange value on the same timeline. In the future, KAS may not be a currency we consciously choose to use. It may become the foundational asset of digital society—used quietly beneath the surface whenever the world moves. We see that future.
