I love mechanical keyboards, but actually using one isn’t always practical.
So I built Keytone — an open-source app that gives any keyboard mechanical keyboard sounds while you type.
Built in under 24 hours. Sundays can be productive sometimes, haha.
Works on macOS, Windows & Linux. Still early, so bugs are welcome :)

Here are the 7 AI project ideas I would build for AI Engineer or GenAI Engineer portfolio:
1. RAG Pipeline with Hybrid Search
Build a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system that combines dense vector search with BM25, and includes reranking, embeddings, and a vector database.
2. Text-to-SQL with Guardrails
Create an application that converts natural language questions into SQL queries. You should include validation, safety checks, and controlled database execution.
3. Fine-Tuning Pipeline with LoRA
Customize a Large Language Model (LLM) using LoRA/QLoRA instead of just relying on prompting. Include quantization, training, evaluation, and model serving in your pipeline.
4. LLM Gateway with Rate Limiting + Fallback Routing
Build infrastructure that connects multiple LLM providers through a single API. This should handle retries, fallbacks, routing, latency, token management, and cost tracking.
5. Prompt Versioning + A/B Testing Platform
Treat prompts like production code. Implement a system for version control, evaluations, metadata tracking, A/B testing, monitoring, and rollback capabilities.
6. Automated Evaluation Dataset Generator
Develop a system capable of automatically creating evaluation datasets from a knowledge corpus and using them to measure RAG performance.
7. Agent Orchestration System
Build workflows for multi-step or multi-agent systems. Incorporate state management, memory, tool calling, human-in-the-loop workflows, and overall orchestration.
Rather than building all seven, the I recommend picking 2–3, understanding them deeply, and deploying them with documented architecture and trade-offs.
The suggested order for learning is:
RAG → Text-to-SQL → LoRA → Agent Orchestration → LLM Gateway → Evaluation → Prompt A/B Testing

For the past few months, I’ve been feeling a little lost and unable to sit and code for long hours. So I decided to take a break from calls and focus on getting that discipline and quality back.
Me and @narsixyz did a 10 hour sprint every day for the past 3 days. Honestly, it feels refreshing to be back.
