(馃У) The Singularity: CL1 by Cortical Labs
The Future of Efficiency - Living Intelligence
How the Cl1 by @CorticalLabs might just be the solution to the Fly Brain Experiment
An extended look into Neural computing. Focusing on where we started
Statement 1: Evolving through Living Intelligence
There is currently a goldrush to solve the Singularity (where humans/ai are indistinguishable). What if the solution has been in front of us the entire time?
Through the Flybrain Experiment by @HHMIJanelia and @GoogleResearch we learned that the configuration of neural networks have more of an effect on behavior than priorly known. How the copy of a fly's brain mimicked the behavior of a fly without a central/motor command system.
2: What does this this mean?
That through Neuroplasticity, certain networks are formed that serve functions. Actual Biological Intelligence built through growth and survival.
Computational AI has no sentience therefore it cannot feel. It lacks the Genetic living Material. It can mimic it yes. but it will never replicate it.
3. CL1 by Cortical Labs: Living Computing
The CL1 by @CorticalLabs houses lab grown human neurons on a microelectrode silicon chip. This allows the Neurons to send, receive, and process electrical signals. Real growth through adaptive reprogramming.
The cells can be trained through the Free-Energy-Principle, which states that cells instinctively try to minimize unpredictability in their environment. For example a unit can be trained to specifically play ping-pong if the environment is converted into electrical. Where the cells are rewarded with a predictable electrical signal if correct or unpredictable if wrong.
Since the CL1 is biological living computer, it must be maintained. It produces waste and needs an environment to survive. In reality it can die.
4. The Singularity.
Although this is a small step towards Computing Sentience, it is the first step. What leads after will reshape science and tech as a whole.
Those who know me, know that i am extremely excited about what's next. And take what I do very seriously.

Some perspective on the Unitree IPO, because I don't think people have actually processed what just happened here and how huge the demand for robotics actually is.
Unitree just IPO'd in Shanghai. 9.8 million people tried to get in. Total commitments came in around $1.1 trillion, for a company valued at just $9 billion.
The book was oversubscribed over 8,000x. Almost nobody got an allocation.
Now compare that to SpaceX, the largest IPO in history:
$250B in demand. 3.5x oversubscribed. At a $1.8T valuation.
So Unitree, a company 200x smaller than SpaceX, pulled in 4x the absolute demand and was oversubscribed roughly 2,000x harder.
And the craziest part: this was an IPO almost entirely restricted to Chinese participants, while SpaceX had the whole world bidding.
For the FIRST humanoid robotics company to ever go public.
Robotics is where the entire world wants exposure and almost nobody can get it yet.
Opportunity in there.

sf is insane
2 guys i know co-founded a company
working 140 hour weeks
both wanted to start dating but didn't have time to meet women
they made the efficient choice and just started dating each other (even though they're not gay)
other founders could learn from this level of commitment

To the 320+ users who joined this week, thank you for being early.
This is just the start.

One of the hardest things about being a crypto VC isn鈥檛 finding talented founders or winning good deals.
It鈥檚 sitting across from a founder you believe in while their token is down 90%, their community has turned against them, the world is calling them a failure, and then choosing to back them even harder while everyone around you thinks you鈥檙e the biggest idiot.
But that鈥檚 exactly where the asymmetric upside comes from. It鈥檚 never in the obvious, it鈥檚 always in the uncomfortable.
We鈥檝e agreed to a partnership with @SpaceX that will substantially increase our compute capacity.
This, along with our other recent compute deals, means that we鈥檝e been able to increase our usage limits for Claude Code and the Claude API.
