hello from a non-speculative crypto use case
it'd be hard for crypto to get much more attention from here the most visible person on earth launched a coin, there's maybe 2-3 people on earth who can match that attention — and this is after polymarket was a headliner for the most visible election on earth kanye is one factor, and my guess is he launches soon after that happens (and tanks within a few), then there's no more "we just need more mainstream retail for adoption bro" everyone has already heard of crypto, to them it's the same thing as a slot machine at worst and sports betting at best — so there will be a new stream of users always coming in for those, but that won't be enough for "the next billion" (a silly term) so then you have the topic of updated regulations the thing with bad regulation is that it hurts non-speculative use cases the most ppl who grift with tokens will do that regardless of the regulatory environment — but ppl who want to build legit businesses will be disproportionately scared but now they have a chance which brings me to: the next year is probably the golden age for non-speculative crypto use cases — combine this with the fact that most new chains (at least in theory) are scalable; there should now be nothing holding back apps from solving real problems at scale that's not to say speculation ever goes away (it won't nor does it need to), but the activation energy required keeps increasing as people become more numb to the dopamine farm

Congratulations to @SahilDewan and the @karma3labs team! The OpenRank protocol for reputation and trust will enable radical innovation around choice, personalization and safety for a rapidly evolving internet.
excited to build OpenRank with a stellar team! over the past 18 months, we've gone down the rabbit hole for solving reputation for the decentralized and peer-to-peer context. I strongly believe that a decentralized internet, characterized by fairness and transparency, hinges on the existence of a robust and open reputation system. check out some of our recent work in pioneering ecosystems like @MetaMask @LensProtocol @farcaster_xyz big thanks to all our partners and fellow web3 builders for supporting us in building OpenRank - we're barely getting started.

We are excited to see OpenRank already being implemented to enable open marketplaces, spam reduction and more. This only scratches the surface of what's possible and we look forward to working with the Karma3 Labs team to bring these possibilities to life.

Let's get past twitter clones and totally rethink social... Our Creative Resident @mikebodge is working on exactly that. Check out the short interview with him below
"The algorithmic feed critique is not new, but right now there are no viable alternatives for creatives. I’m inspired to build social apps that are new and participatory rather than doom scrolling consumption." – @mikebodge bit.ly/4bxklFN

This is the way
For crypto to survive, our industry as a whole needs to become more user-centric in our approach to building products. A quick thread on my experiences in product dev from the mines of dapp building over the last 7 years:

What if web3 was for the bots the whole time?
AI Agents That Can Transact Most people still view AI and crypto/web3 as separate things, but they address different layers of the stack and can be integrated in powerful ways. Last night I created a GPT that can make crypto/web3 transactions in just a few lines of code. Read about how I built this demo in a couple hours using @syndicateio and @openai and what it could mean for AI and crypto/web3. mirror.xyz/0x16de9a0d10EFc67…
