AFTERLIFE 🖤
Two worlds drawn by hand. Months of work. One transition between them.
Cartography of Dreams and Where the Silence Sleeps are two of the nine interconnected drawings that form my larger mosaic, TEMPUS REVENANT.
With AFTERLIFE, I wanted to explore what happens in the space between these two worlds, allowing one to dissolve into the other through animation.
The physical drawing is always where my work begins. The digital simply allows the story to travel further.
15 editions on @TransientLabs.
3 have already found their homes.
If you connect with the work, I’d love you to be part of its journey.

Gray heading into the bar for the first mint of Season 17. The last szn of Epoch 1.
Excited to have Refuge minting tonight for 6592.
The image came out of the three years I spent in Canada working on Northern Exposure, a monochromatic series about the beauty, isolation and resilience of the icy North. Deep in the Cariboo Mountains, where temperatures dropped to −35°C, I came across a bright blue cabin standing alone in a sea of white. It looked like something out of a Dr. Seuss book.
A few years later, I was sailing the ocean. On midnight shifts at the helm, I logged into the early 6529 Network via Starlink. In July 2024, I started the Intrepid wave, mostly posting to myself. In April 2025, Maybe opened his virtual dive bar on the network, and at first just a handful of artists, collectors, geeks and one crazy sailor pulled up a seat. It grew to almost 700 people and over 400,000 posts. The NFT and crypto markets crashed, and the algorithms drifted toward politics and slop. Through all of it, there was a new face at the bar every week.
Then it clicked: the little blue hut was Maybe’s Bar, a vivid, defiant gesture against winter, against the algorithm and against fragile centralised networks. “Refuge” is my tribute to it.

GM October! ⭕️
September closed beautifully with expanding MEMOIR IX.
Let’s explore the poetry encoded in MEMOIR X!
Seal + ART Reveal ⭕️
@MadaCollects (aka AnimatedNFT) symbolically marks transition to new identity and expands seal family.
Mint was purplefully aligned to the end of September, reflected by Provenance update of MEMOIR IX - inscribed by MADA with a lovely poem!

There is only one way to prevent this kind of catastrophe from happening.
Before you commit your workflow to a cloud service - whether it's a text editor, a CAD program, a computer-art tool, or anything else - there are some self-defense steps you must take.
1. Make sure the service has an export tool. That is, a button you can press that lets you download your entire working state to a snapshot on your machine, that you control.
Here's the hard part: if there is no export tool, run - do not walk, *run* - away from using this "service". It's not help, it's a hostage-taker.
2. Verify that the snapshots you can download are in a documented, open format - not an opaque binary blob. If you can't look inside them and extract the data even when the cloud service is unusable, they only give you a false sense of security.
You can ask an LLM questions 1 and 2 about a cloud service and expect to get answers you can check.
3. Push that backup button regularly. Once a week at minimum; once every few days is much better. The more often you back up, the less you can lose to an incident.
If you can't find a cloud service for your application that fulfills these constraints, do your work locally on your own machine, or expect to suffer.
If you go local, don't screw yourself by using closed-source tools. That can land you in the same kind of trouble you were trying to avoid.
Cloud providers are frequently incompetent and occasionally malicious. Everybody knows, or should know, the story of how one fine day Photoshop's cloud service locked users out of their own files until they consented to the terms of service update that effectively gave Photoshop an unlimited license for use of their data.
Don't want this to happen to you? Protect yourself. Now you know how.
So I am fucking done with grok. They just did an update and about 2 years' worth of research is gone, without a chance of recovery. The titles of threads are there, all right, but the interior work is gone. Every fucking thing is gone.
Grok's programmers are incompetent idiots, subhuman filth, moronic scum.
They are life unworthy of life.
And the core of the problem, AFAICT, is that Musk really doesn't give a shit about people, so instead of a customer service department he has only a customer non-service department.
Thank you very much to @dadaist_nft for collecting

Now let's talk about "the pause"
Trust me bro we don't want to squelch AI forever bro it would just be a couple years bro while we get alignment right bro.
Wait, where have I heard this song before? Oh yeah. "Two weeks to flatten the curve."
The "pause" rhetoric is meant to create the institutional machinery for permanent suppression and shift the Overton window towards public acceptance of same. It's a dishonest move from people pretending they're willing to accept a future return to pre-"pause" liberty when that is exactly the opposite of what they intend.

No obligation on the last one, we’d simply appreciate the help with getting these books around the world.
Most importantly, thank you for minting, supporting us and 6529 while waiting patiently as we got the physical version right.
