Writing in the AI era seems to me still quite relevant, at least in terms of the ability to think clearly and to understand the "vibe" of your audience (that is if there is an audience). Curious to know what others who write a lot think.
End of an era. Grateful for the players who got to try and love Duper during Abstract's heydays. The journey to build great PvP experiences continues unabated!
I’m extremely sad to announce that Abstract is shutting down.
When we were just a three-person team building Frame I never could have imagined the two and half year journey I was about to embark on.
From the tireless nights preparing for launch, to mainnet going live in January 2025, and everything in between, this journey is one I will treasure for the rest of my life. Even though the outcome is not what we wanted, I am incredibly proud of everything we built at Abstract.
The Portal and Abstract Global Wallet made interacting with a blockchain feel seamless. That foundation led to a wave of unique apps, novel onchain experiences, and, most importantly, an incredibly passionate community that gave Abstract an identity and culture of its own.
But the truth is that the industry has changed significantly since the idea was first conceived in the summer of 2024, and Abstract was facing difficulties with our DeFi Ecosystem and liquidity on the chain.
We reached a crossroads of experiencing significant growth, but not having cemented product-market-fit,and that was becoming an issue from a business sustainability perspective.
A very difficult decision needed to be made. Abstract’s growth had stalled and the chain was simply not economically sustainable anymore despite our best efforts.
I am extremely grateful to the Igloo, Inc team who truly gave it their all to explore every angle and make Abstract work.
I want to take this time to thank the incredibly talented team I had the pleasure of working with over the last three years. Every single one of them poured their heart and soul into Abstract and together we created something truly special that pushed forward what onchain discovery and experiences could look like. It is the best team that I have ever worked with. I will always be proud of that.
I want to thank all of our partners and builders that worked with us to make Abstract such a unique, special place. Truly some of the most talented developers launched on Abstract and I know you will all kill it in your next chapter.
Most of all I want to thank the Abstract community for the support over these three years. I know there have been moments of frustration, but your passion and admiration for Abstract are what made it so special and helped create a culture that is incredibly rare in crypto. I truly wish this could have worked out for all of us.
Thank you for supporting the green chain ✳️

When people in AI says "AGI will arrive within 10 years and we're all f*cked afterwards", what they're really saying is their time frame is <10 years. But history tells a different story, that great things take decades, centuries, and millennia to develop. Here comes a great opportunity to hold a longer time frame than many of the smartest alive.
very cool stuff
Indeed something players tend to miss
Important info @playduper 🧠
I finally figured out why I lost here.
I never paid it much mind.
Let me break it down simply:
Every unit has "death points" the higher the score, the later it dies in a clash.
In my vid example, tanks in attack support have 5 death points, while my capital only has 4.
So in the fight, the capital drops first, tanks survive... but duh, nothing lives without the capital 🧵👇

mobile @playduper is fully playable, but not feature-complete yet compared to PC browser. that'll happen in roughly a month
finally feeling relieved with my 33 IQ score 😇
(interesting arguments, and there's a rebuttal in the article top comments which is interesting too)
BTW the IQ argument is pretty much shut
