In the early days of GTA1 development, the driving just wasn’t fun.
Then Pat Kerr, who is handy with physics but wasn’t even on the team, dropped in some driving code that fixed it.
He’s now published a playable demo using those same ideas. It’s remarkable how much it feels like GTA1—especially the handbrake (space).

Two RAM dumps of a Banjo-Kazooie Debug Disk Drive version were discovered about a month ago. Both are dated to December of 1997.
Banjo-Kazooie was never planned for the Disk Drive, but Rare allegedly liked to use the Disk Drive for debugging.
Stay tuned for more info.

Apparently it was shared in a prototype discord. The actual link says the guy had it as part of a collection and only uploaded it in hopes more Rare prototypes get uploaded by collectors.

I've just released my GTA 1 prototype remake, written in C#.
It recreates the original tech and makes it simpler to follow.
Enjoy!
