A 16-year-old girl on RedNote had been sharing her life through drawings documenting her journey fighting cancer since 2023. Much of her art featured characters from Where Winds Meet with Ruby being her favourite. The WWM developers had heard her story before and sent her gifts. When she shared an unboxing video many players left comments wishing her a speedy recovery and expressing their support. Sadly, in July she lost her battle against cancer. In her memory the WWM developers added her to the game. You can find her looking at fish and reading alongside her friends accompanied by a silver needle Jiejie. Her inventory also contains a heartfelt introduction and a message from the development team: “A lively 16-year-old girl who carries an album and stories with her. She said the character 鱼 sounds like one of the characters in her name, while 千 resembles the other. She loves the sunset and the breeze in this world. May she always be free and bright.
