chatgpt moment (2022) for robotics might be here, though hardware accessibility is still a blocker 👀
Introducing GEN-1.5, a one-shot learner. It can learn new tasks in a few seconds. Show it what to do, and it generalizes. This capability emerged from pretraining on physical data at scale, as a step towards our mission of building general intelligence for the physical world.

WOOO let's go @Intelligence_ai ! :)
Today, we're introducing @Intelligence_ai. In 6 months, as a team of 10, we scaled from $5M to $60M ARR and 5.5M users across 190+ countries. We raised a $7.9M seed, led by @IndexVentures with participation from @conviction, @A_StarVC, and @combinator to build DesignArena, a universal interface for accessing and evaluating the world's AI capabilities. Most evaluations try to simulate the real-world. We believe the real-world is the ultimate verifier. People come to @DesignArena with a request. Models compete to fulfill the request, and users determine what works best for them. Their live user behavior evaluates the models, improves how work is routed, and helps people access the right intelligence. We've helped the world's leading frontier labs break the news on their SOTA capabilities. What's the limit? Join us and find out.

It is a hard and sad decision. I shared this message with folks at Thinky. Thank you all for the time together♥️ Just as the last sentence in my message: The future worth building is human.

young and impressionable engineering students are attracted to the startup space and i think often misled by the supposed glory all they wanted to do was prove themselves / have a good career / finally make their parents proud. but the sf competition and other unfortunate practices in the sf bubble are lead to more credential chasing, capital chasing, and a surprising uniformity many of the sf bubble activities i also fell into as a 20 year old on leave from university. taking vc funding early on, immersing myself in the sf community, working 997 and trying to find a place for myself. but please, if you are young and ambitious in the startup space, stay grounded, don't take bad deals, work hard, and stay a person beyond an empty tech bro.

If you skip some or all of college to start a startup, it's on you to develop your mind the way college would have. And that's not something that happens by default in most startups.
