Vent art but it's watching someone you used to look up to completely surrendering their passion to AI and turning into a much more boring version of themselves.png

Happily sharing how little they have to be involved in their craft anymore, posting excitement for ai developments, strictly platforming AI creations now, telling their own heroes how "left behind" they are, repeating stale "gotchas", and talking like a sponsored ad account now.

there's a creepy, gleeful "whether you like it or not" element to AI pushers
The concept of "AI slop" itself is also contradictory. If it's truly so bad that everyone thinks it's slop, then why do we need to be actively anti-AI? If AI art is so bad that no one wants it, it will simply die on its own lack of merits. Guess we just don't want to face the harsher truth huh?

Getting an ActionReplay for Pokémon Sapphire and going "what do these codes even mean???" kinda kicked off my career. Randomly changing digits in the warp-codes to see where it would take me and eventually just learning hexadecimal and GBA internals. Had a whole notebook too.
What game has taught you the most? By "taught", I mean anything: history, geopolitics, philosophy, or just generally aided in your self-development?

Also modding the Halo 1 PC trial around the same time on my dad's laptop was a big moment where I learned Visual Basic and eventually C# and then later on C++. All this happened when I was like 9-12 years old.

Glad to have lived in the pre-ai slop era of game modding, emulation, decomps, recomps, etc. It's just gonna be a total slop-fest now moving forward.

Feels like now that anyone can recomp/decomp/mod games with AI, we're going to see even more oppressive ways that companies will try to protect their IP. Like an even worse era of DRM and not-owning-your-games and such since companies are going to want to defend against this.

Wish we could limit comments to non-checkmarks or something. Pretty much every comment section requires like 12 scrolls to avoid all the engagement bait bot-comments.
