Totally fine for him to say this… but I can tell you right now that if Tommy Carr doesn’t come out as the starter next week there will be riots in Ann Arbor the likes of which we have never seen.
Is it possible Bryce gets another shot at Michigan? Absolutely. Is it possible he transfers? Yes. Is it possible that we need him later in the year based on unforeseen circumstances? Of course.
But if Bryce jogs out there for the first possession against Indiana, there will be hell to pay.
Kyle Whittingham says he's not prepared to say Tommy Carr will be the starter moving forward. Needs to look at the film and evaluate what improved in the second half.

Tommy Carr will get his first start against the defending National Champs. That’s a tall task, but also an opportunity to cement himself as “the guy.” And the best part is if he is the guy, we likely get 4 years of him.
I will say, Bryce Underwood showed up as a great teammate after being benched. You have to give him credit for that.
The staff made the move they had to make and I must give them props. Ever since the spring game you could tell Tommy Carr has they “it” factor. I know I was calling for their heads at halftime (and I think that was fair), but I have to give credit to Whitt and the staff… they may have just changed the trajectory of this team.
This is not a rebuilding year. This Michigan offense is LOADED with talent. This staff has completely buried this offense with poor play-calling, poor strategy, and most inexcusably poor energy.
Sherrone Moore in year 1 showed 10 times more fight than this staff has, and he was absolutely dealing with a rebuild.
Whittingham doesn’t talk to anyone on the sidelines and just stares there blankly while Jason Beck hides in the box and doesn’t have to look his players in the eyes. And then when Whittingham gets interviewed heading into the locker room he says “I don’t have the answers right now” just like he’s said all bye week. You are the HEAD COACH! If you don’t have the answers who does?
I am perhaps the most optimistic Michigan fan you will ever come across but this is unacceptable. This is not on Bryce. This is 100% on the coaching staff. Whittingham needs to be let go of his duties immediately before he sets this program back decades.
There is no discipline. There is no belief. And worst of all there is no fight.
There has to be someone on this staff who is willing to step up and rally the troops and fight for these players. I don’t know if it’s Jay Hill or some other assistant. But if I was Warde Manuel I would identify who that person is and immediately make them interim HC. I know that seems crazy but it literally cannot get any worse than it has been.
Somebody do something! As always, Go Blue!

1) Whitt appears to be clueless on what to do to fix this.
2) Bryce simply isn’t taking what the defense gives him.
Both of those roads lead to one obvious answer… put Tommy Carr in the game.

Losing 3 straight games at Michigan is inexcusable no matter the circumstances. For that reason, today is a must win for Whittingham.
But here’s the reality. Warde Manuel is in his final year at Michigan so it’s unlikely that he would make any drastic changes on his way out. Then you have to consider whether a new AD would come in and immediately make a big splash, which I would say is also unlikely. So it’s almost guaranteed that we get 2 years of Whittingham regardless of the outcomes of games.
So we better pray they get there shit together, and it starts today. Go Blue!

Why in the hell did we not try the most obvious number… 8. If the goal is actually to find the best team, then an 8 team playoff makes the most sense. There have always been teams ranked 5-8 that could make legitimate arguments that they could be the best team in the country. There has never really been a situation where a team ranked 9+ can make that argument.
Just a random, unsolicited reminder that Michigan and Ohio St should matchup every year in their home uniforms. Making it blue vs red every year is one of the most obvious choices in the world and we should all campaign for it until it becomes a thing.
