.Sens. @rosemarybayer, @JeremyAllenMoss, @MalloryMcMorrow & Rep. @KyraHBolden & I read the story from @propublica about a student who was sent to juvenile detention for not completing her online coursework during COVID. We are shocked & appalled, & issued the following statement:
A Michigan 15-year-old was incarcerated during the coronavirus pandemic after a judge ruled she violated probation by not completing her schoolwork.

Our @WXYZDetroit Senior Salutes: Groves High School track & field had five students qualify for states in 2019, who wanted more in 2020. They didn't get that shot, but we salute you!
Trust us WE Groves admin team benefited greatly from this experience. We miss you and all Groves students. 2020 this is an example of Symbiosis? Mutualism? Both?
