Because when homes lose electricity, water, or gas, a hot meal becomes more than comfort—it becomes essential. See where your support helped ensure those meals reached people in need. ⬇️ #ChefsForTheWorld (3/3)
WCK responded to nine emergencies across eight countries this week, making sure affected communities have access to fresh food. (2/3)
Meeting a physical need is only the beginning of recovery—the body, mind, and soul all need to be nourished. That mission is at the heart of both WCK’s efforts and the work of our local partner Good News for Africa, founded by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Dr. Denis Mukwege. In the Bukavu region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, we’re working together to achieve that goal and support families impacted by violence and the recent Ebola outbreak. Together with our other local partner Good News for Africa, we’ve served more than 1 million hot meals to patients, caregivers, staff, and displaced families. Because a plate of food is never just a plate of food. #ChefsForDRC
"It's really about people helping people."
Julie is from Alabama. When Hurricane Isaias hit, she didn't wait—she signed up to volunteer with WCK. And because she's from here, she knows exactly where to go and who needs help.
Every community she's visited, she's run into someone she knows. That's how close-knit these communities are. And right now, neighbors are showing up for neighbors, one meal, one water bottle at a time.

As families had returned to their apartment complex in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine after several Russian attacks, their building was struck again. WCK's #ChefsForUkraine teams are responding there once again, supporting families and first responders with hot meals, drinks, and snacks. As our teams connect with families living through this difficult moment, we're committed to ensuring that they have the food they need to re-start the long journey to recovery.
For WCK and @HASHaiti, "farm-to-table" is a philosophy driving our efforts in Haiti. We work closely with local food producers, including rice farmers, to source ingredients fresh from the earth. These partnerships help funnel money back into the local economies, supporting growers as they make their living, while also serving fresh and delicious ingredients to local communities in need. Watch as one grain of rice makes its way from the farm to someone's plate. #ChefsForHaiti
Local partners and restaurants are at the heart of WCK’s #ChefsForPanama efforts to support communities impacted by last week’s earthquake. Chef Andrés Morataya and his team at Restaurante DeMar in Playa Venao have been cooking since day one, serving comforting meals for their neighbors. On the menu: beef stew with lentils, rice, and vegetables, fresh salad, and cooked beets.
WCK is responding to Typhoon Champi, which is expected to make landfall on Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands as a Category 4 storm—with the possibility of strengthening into a super typhoon. This will be our third typhoon response in this region in 2026, following Super Typhoons Sinlaku and Bavi earlier this year. Over the course of those responses, we have built a robust network of local partners who are ready to serve their communities. The storm is expected to bring extremely high and damaging winds with the potential for severe flooding. #ChefsForGuam #ChefsForCNMI

Checking in from California with WCK’s Alyssa. 📍
Our team is in San Juan Capistrano at the edge of the Norte Fire evacuation zone, where hundreds of people are waiting—some on foot, some in their cars—to hear if they can return home. WCK is there with them, handing out burritos to families at the blockade. When you’ve been waiting for hours unsure of where you’ll go next, a warm meal matters. #ChefsForCalifornia
WCK is on the ground in Orange County, California as the Norte Fire rages—0% contained and spreading fast across more than 400 acres, fueled by intense Santa Ana winds. Roughly 13,000 residents are under mandatory evacuation orders after the fire grew rapidly Friday afternoon, forcing thousands from their homes. WCK and our local partners are working to serve meals to impacted communities. #ChefsForCalifornia

After the devastating flooding in Nepal washed away roads and bridges, many communities were completely cut off and had no access to food, water, and other necessities. Local WCK volunteers like Ram led treks up into mountain villages to get them the support they needed—and cleared helipads to made sure we could return with even more supplies. In six weeks, our teams served more than 161,000 meals from over a dozen community kitchens, working alongside local partners, restaurants, and organizations. #ChefsForNepal
"This is where my heart is. This is where home is."
After Hurricane Isaias hit East Brewton, Alabama, Reagan didn’t wait for someone else to show up. She joined WCK to help give out hot meals to her neighbors—the same people she’s grown up with, played softball with, built a life alongside.
That’s the WCK way. Local people know their communities best, and when they lead the response, it makes all the difference. #ChefsForAlabama
In Khrinnyky, Ukraine, families who have been displaced by the Russian invasion are working towards rebuilding their lives. Community members of all ages are sheltering there, from seniors to young children.
WCK is supporting these families in a variety of ways: setting up a Community Kitchen, providing food and children’s kits, helping residents grow their own food with our seed kits, and celebrating the holidays by making traditional treats together.
Now, as winter approaches, WCK is supplying our preservation kits to these families so they can preserve produce for the winter. This beloved Ukrainian tradition is also critical to maintaining access to food over the cold months, especially for people with inconsistent access to meals.
On the day we delivered the kits, residents joined us to peel and chop vegetables, cook, and prepare jars. WCK teams were able to share in the joy and warmth that cooking brings alongside community members in need of comfort. #ChefsForUkraine
They’re chefs, cooks, and neighbors in Panama—but you might mistake them for superheroes. Today, they’re all in the same kitchen.
From Playa Venao, Chef Andrés of Restaurante ReMar gives us a look inside his kitchen, where WCK is supporting a locally led response to the recent earthquake. Alongside Chef Andrés today are Chef Vladi and Chef Chicho from Quincha, Javi from Bristol Panamá, Reynaldo from La Tapa del Coco, and community members of all ages—united by one goal: feed people in need. #ChefsForPanama
#ChefsForPanama
WCK is providing meals in communities hit hardest by what meteorologists believe could have been a rare 'sting jet' current—a weather phenomenon causing 120 mph wind gusts on the western edge of where Hurricane Isaias struck in Alabama and Florida. In these areas, power outages have been rampant, and many families here need electricity to pump water from wells. Without electricity, many rural areas can't preserve food, cook, or access clean water.
Alongside our local partners, WCK teams are working around the clock to access these communities with hot meals so that families without power have something to eat and drink. From shelters to remote communities, when disaster strikes, WCK and our teams are committed to finding the people most in need and ensuring they have hot meals.

Adaptability is baked into everything WCK does, from finding a new route to a community isolated after a storm to creating systems that help us move faster. Felix, WCK’s VP of Response Technology, is part of that process, ensuring the technology we use is built to adapt alongside our teams on the ground. #ChefsForTheWorld
Overnight, Russian forces launched dozens of missiles and more than 100 drones across Ukraine, targeting the Kyiv and Kharkiv regions. The attack lasted from Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning, striking homes and energy infrastructure.
In Kyiv’s Desnianskyi district, a missile struck a nine-story apartment building, forcing families to evacuate. WCK teams responded at the scene, providing hot meals and support to residents and first responders as emergency crews worked through the morning.
In the aftermath of an attack, a warm meal is one way we show up for the people navigating the difficult hours ahead. #ChefsForUkraine
In Panama, WCK is serving meals to families impacted by last week’s earthquake, like these comforting plates of chicken, rice, plantain, and veggies our partner Antojito los Chamos served in Soná.
Every part of this operation is led by local partners and restaurants. They identify the need within their communities, cook the meals, and deliver them directly to the families in need. WCK’s role is to support, connect, and empower them to do what they already do best. Most of these restaurants were already feeding their neighbors before we arrived.
This has been made possible by the remarkable support of Chef Corps members Isaac Villaverde and Mario Castrellón and their extended networks—particularly TURIGASTRO, Panama’s first chamber for culinary tourism, a nonprofit bringing together restaurants, chefs, and producers across the country.
When communities already show up for each other, WCK helps them go further. #ChefsForPanama
#ChefsForPanama
Right now, WCK is responding to 9 emergencies across 8 countries—including 3 hurricanes, an earthquake, and ongoing humanitarian crises. From the Pacific Coast of Mexico to the streets of Gaza, our teams are on the ground serving meals to families who need them most.
Wherever the need is, WCK shows up. #ChefsForTheWorld
