When someone discloses an experience of abuse, our response matters. Listen without judgement, believe them, respect their choices and avoid asking questions that suggest blame. Sometimes, the most important thing you can say is: "I am here for you." #WARIFNTM2026

Silence does not mean violence is absent. Many survivors remain silent because of shame, fear, stigma, threats or the belief that nobody will believe them. We must build communities where speaking up is met with compassion, not judgement. #WARIFat10

We must teach children and young people that their bodies belong to them. Knowing how to recognise inappropriate behaviour, communicate boundaries and seek help can make a significant difference in their safety. Education is prevention. #WARIFNTM2026

Being in a relationship does not give anyone automatic access to another person's body. Marriage does not remove the need for consent. Love does not justify coercion. Respecting boundaries is fundamental to every healthy relationship. #WARIFNTM2026

Consent is not silence, It is not fear, It is not pressure and it is not something that can be assumed. Consent must be freely given, informed, specific and reversible. Everyone deserves to have their boundaries respected. #WARIFat10

Raising our voices against sexual violence starts with speaking up, standing with survivors and refusing to stay silent. Every survivor deserves to be heard. #NoToleeance #WARIFAt10 #WARIFNTM2026

Awareness must go beyond recognising bruises. Emotional manipulation, intimidation, sexual coercion and financial control are also serious forms of abuse. How we define violence determines how effectively we can challenge it. #WARIFAT10

Controlling what a woman wears, who she speaks to, where she goes or how she spends her money can be warning signs of an abusive relationship. Violence is not always visible. We must learn to recognise it before it escalates. #WARIFNTM2026

GBV is not limited to physical violence. It includes sexual abuse, rape, emotional &psychological abuse, economic abuse, harmful traditional practices, child marriage & other forms of violence rooted in gender inequality. Recognising it is the first step towards ending it.

A woman should not have to calculate her safety before leaving her home. A girl should not have to fear the people entrusted with her protection. Safety is not a privilege. It is a fundamental human right. #WARIFNTM2026

The heart of some men is filled with unimaginable wickedness. 💔😭 This just happened this evening at ikennegbu , After beating this girl for hours, he allegedly threw her down from a two-storey building. God, what is this wickedness? 😭😭 No woman deserves to go through this. Domestic violence must never be tolerated. May God have mercy! 😭😭😭😭😭

Rape is a crime. Silence protects perpetrators. Speak up, report abuse and demand accountability. No “bro code” should ever come before justice. #WARIFAT10 #WARIFNTM2026

Banishment is NOT justice! The 16-year-old impregnated by her stepfather in Nenwe deserves a lawful court trial and jail term for her abuser, not her illegal banishment. While the traditional ruler and cabinet maintains that the banishment didn't stem from them, they didn't also stop it from happening. Silence is consent. Why has the perpetrator not been arrested? We call on @PoliceNG Enugu to arrest and prosecute the perpetrator. Our communities must Stop illegal banishments for they do not promote justice! ! 🛑⚖️ #banishment #JusticeForVictims #EndViolenceAgainstGirls #ChildProtection @UN_Women @FordFoundation @CanHCNigeria @EU_Commission

When children raise concerns, adults must listen and take appropriate steps to protect them. Every child deserves to be safe and believed. #BelieveChildren #WARIFNTM2026

Asking for support takes courage. Respond with kindness, respect a survivor’s choices and help connect them to trusted services if they want that. #WARIFAT10 #EndSGBV
