Lightpool Festival: LUCA
Have you noticed the stunning transformation of the Wedding Chapel this week?
As part of this year’s Lightpool Festival, head down to the Promenade to view LUCA, a new projection piece created by artist-led multimedia studio Limbic Cinema.
Inspired by the idea that all life on Earth is connected, LUCA lights up the building with colourful, moving DNA patterns.
As the bright shapes repeat and stack across the Chapel, they show how life has been passed down over billions of years. It’s a poignant reminder that despite our differences, we all share the same roots.
Make sure to grab the Light Art Trail Map and stop by the Wedding Chapel between 6pm and 9pm until October 31 to see it for yourself!

Lightpool Festival: What The Gull?!
See Blackpool’s ultimate chip-thief from an egg’s perspective. Head to “What the Gull?!” to pop your head through the cutout to get the ultimate bird’s-eye view, hatch into the nest and look up at the mother of all gulls staring right back down at you.
It’ll make you giggle, but this giant glowing installation actually highlights an important message about habitat loss and our relationship with Blackpool’s feathered locals. There’s always more than meets the eye!

📆 6-9pm until October 31
Nothing says Blackpool magic quite like seeing the illuminated Western Train tram back where it belongs 🚂
The static displays of the Western Train and HMS Blackpool offer an opportunity to celebrate two of Blackpool’s much-loved trams while work continues to get them safely back into service.
🚃 The Western Train is on display at the heritage line at North Pier and HMS Blackpool can be seen outside Starr Gate depot from 17:30 until 22:30 until October 31.
Have you spotted the giant elephant in St John’s Square yet?
As part of Lightpool Festival’s free Art Trail, get up close to ‘In Love with my Dynamic Soft Elephant’ by acclaimed artist Chila Kumari Singh Burman MBE! 🎨💫
Glowing in vivid neon colours and jewels, this incredible installation celebrates Indian heritage and the vibrant glitz of Bollywood🌟
In Indian culture, elephants, and the beloved elephant-headed god Ganesha, symbolise strength, wisdom, good fortune and new beginnings.
Chila has created a shining beacon to bring people together through the power of light and culture.

Snooker Shoot Out will return to The Blackpool Tower Circus from 9-12 December.
The event originally ran in Blackpool from 2011 to 2015 and returned last year to high acclaim, with players and fans considering it the best ever venue for the tournament.
How it works:
🎱 10-minute games: Every match is a high-speed knockout.
🎱 Players have only seconds to shoot, leaving no room for mistakes.
🎱 Anyone can win, from world champions to underdog rising stars.
