I'm very happy that @ViditHQ has reached this milestone, also because of the efforts from everyone at every single point on the map. If you'd like to contribute to the GEOINT community, don't hesitate to contact him. vidit.app is a great place to store your work.
100 followers. Thank you all ! Same day, Vidit nearly doubled: 1,160 → 2,203 geolocations (+90%) 1,043 of them came from a single analyst's X archive. Who? Watch the quotes 🐶

And for the actual massive archive import it was @Stinky915846091 ! Welcome home xitter.cf/stinky915846091/status…
Earlier today I caused a spike with the @ViditHQ’s API’s nap (27x to be exact) after I imported archive worth nearly 4GB of posts, which included over 1,000 geolocations. Now, my geolocations take up half the website, spanning 5 continents. Check it out: vidit.app/map

When me and the others (@GEOIMINT, @LoLManya, @geo_lego_2, @geo27752) found out how much data got consumed (as well as the overall change in the website), we all got caught off guard I was trying to hold back my laughter for how much data got consumed But, the bot survived..

And no I’m not kidding, I quite literally put the bot through its paces When @ViditHQ told me that I doubled the quantity of geolocations on his website, I thought I broke the bot 3.2GB (compressed, the actual file had 3.7GB) of posts all inserted into the site at once 💀

Tracking down a job that was filmed in the middle of nowhere. The kind of work where the only real comfort is knowing that somewhere, right now, someone else is also swearing at their screen trying to find the same damn video. We built the feature for that exact moment!

It was my first operational test, and it was shocking to discover the incredible amount of clashes, looting and destruction across France. Credit to @LoLManya and @ViditHQ, who have continued to geolocate events since late last night. We will continue the work. 🫡
1/ Yesterday, I made this map to track the damage caused by the protests in France. After reviewing over 120 videos, I’ve paused the updates for now (there are still over 1000 videos). Huge thanks to @AquilaTrenta and @VidithHQ for the helping hand! goo.gl/maps/Gh9FfBjk8RqUTcr2…

I’m launching the map showing the locations of the 17 oct protests. I’ll be updating it in real time, but there are over 1200 videos to geoloc, lol The map’s a bit of a mess; I’ll tidy it up when I’ve got time. Starting with Lyon. Thx @ViditHQ for the help google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid…
It's been years since I've heard so many helicopters and explosions. Shops are starting to be looted and several buildings/vehicles are starting to be set on fire. 😬 The evening is expected to intensify the chaos even further.

Analyst portrait, the third one. @GEOIMINT covers the Middle East, Iran first: SAM launchers, strike sites, military hardware, often with almost nothing to go on. We asked a few questions. His answers, in his words. 🧵 vidit.app/profile/GEOIMINT
