SAFER roads SAVE lives 🚑 The Federal Highway Administration helped get the JOB DONE for a roundabout at a critical intersection near a hospital in Carmel, New York that sees 10,000+ cars & trucks going through it EVERY DAY! “This is decades of discussion that is now going to result in shovels in the ground… jobs building this infrastructure… and this is going to be delivered for Putnam County next year.” - @USDOTFHWA Administrator Sean McMaster Now it will be easier for first responders to get patients to the hospital safer and faster 🏥
Today, I welcomed FHWA Administrator Sean McMaster to Putnam County to highlight critical safety improvements coming to the Stoneleigh Avenue and Drewville Road intersection near Putnam Hospital. After years of work, we’re moving this $5 million project toward construction to make our roads safer for patients, families, first responders, and everyone who travels here.

AMERICA IS BUILDING AGAIN Two years after Hurricane Helene hit North Carolina, nearly 425 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway are now open to drivers because of President Trump’s commitment to rebuilding the state’s infrastructure @USDOTFHWA👇
Today, FHWA Administrator Sean McMaster joined @Interior and @NatlParkService officials to inspect recovery sites and celebrate a major step forward in our ongoing commitment to rebuild North Carolina’s infrastructure. Marking two years of Hurricane Helene recovery and renewed re-investment by the Trump Administration, leaders gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of Phase 2 of the Blue Ridge Parkway’s recovery work. Now, 421 miles of the 469-mile Parkway are officially reopened to the public! When Hurricane Helene hit in September 2024, it caused the most severe damage in the Parkway's history, triggering 60 landslides and washouts across 200 miles of roadway in North Carolina alone. Because tourism and travel along the Parkway are the economic lifeblood for neighboring gateway communities, restoring safe access has been our top priority. FHWA is proud to work tirelessly with our federal and local partners until every mile is safe, accessible, and stronger than before. @BlueRidgeNPS
