Interesting evolution of Much Obliged: early pairing w/Haji + 1 of 10 songs on UM’s 1st live album + active rotation from 1998-2001
Cue 2002, played 4x in 160 shows
After Mirro’s final Indy show, MO was shelved for 136 shows until Indy H’ween in 03
Active rotation ever since🤘🏽
22 yrs ago, Mirro’s 5th to last show marked last time UM performed treasured songs w/founding drummer: Much Obliged, Uncle Wally, Q*Bert, Padgett’s Profile & “Wappy” (b4 rearranged comp & lyrics) + Ringo rotation jam(!) w/crowd on chorus #umphreys

"Sully Time" was a play on words for "it's all in time" (slurred of course) and referencing old-school Indy phreak Mike Sullivan.

I just love @umphreysmcgee you guys. There has never been and will never be another band that does it for me the way #umphreys does. I am forever grateful and forever indebted to the team and the organization. I’ve been so many places and made so many friends and have so many memories, enough to last a lifetime. I’ve had more fun than one person should be allowed to, and I can’t fucking wait to get back to it, following this band around the world and witnessing musical magic. They’re one of a kind, truly.

I had such a blast at this totally amazing show & the UMLive soundboard of it I bought that night is right downstairs in my music room.
20 years later, I'm holding tickets to two Carolina Umphshows and am as excited as ever for each.
Umph Love baby!
