From today, adult content showing someone pretending to be under 16 is illegal in England and Wales. But a group of Oxfordshire schoolgirls has spotted the gap: put an adult in a school uniform, say she’s 17, and it’s still allowed. They’re asking the Prime Minister to ban school uniform in porn completely. 46,000+ people have already signed, and you can add your name here: c.org/hVsybxPQ

Shakespeare, a starship captain, Professor X - and through all of it, a Huddersfield Town supporter. After Sir Patrick Stewart died last week, his team wore black armbands for him at the derby against Bradford. A 14-year-old girl was attacked with a kitchen knife in a Cirencester shop. The boy who did it was given a 12-month referral order and a three-year restraining order. Because the case was handled in a youth court, it can’t be sent for review as too lenient. The same judge, Ian Lawrie KC, handed a suspended sentence to a teenager convicted of raping a 17-year-old girl. He also gave community orders to a man who strangled his partner until she lost consciousness. That man was later jailed for 34 months on appeal. More than 35,000 people are now calling for an independent review of Judge Lawrie’s sentencing decisions. You can add your name: c.org/FhgbLPqW

Marilyn Manson is booked to support Slipknot at Wembley Stadium on 3 July 2027. Four months later, on 15 November, he’s due before a jury in Los Angeles in a civil sexual assault lawsuit brought by his former assistant. He denies the allegations. Brent councillor Anton Georgiou has started a petition asking Wembley and Live Nation to take him off the bill until the legal process has run its course. “These are essentially small bombs.” That’s how Alan Smith describes the fireworks that killed his mum. Josephine Smith, 88, was asleep in her Romford home in October 2021 when a firework was pushed through her letterbox. The fireworks had been sold to a 15-year-old, who told staff he wanted to throw them at police and ‘terrorise people’. Alan wants Challenge 25 made compulsory for every firework sale, along with quieter fireworks and use limited to key dates like Bonfire Night and New Year. With Bonfire Night on Thursday, nearly 70,000 people have signed. If you agree, you can add your name: c.org/fYqR69QR #BonfireNight #FireworkSafety

In just 24 hours, one political party was given £72 million. That’s more than every other party in the UK got in the whole of last year put together. Right now, there’s no limit on how much one person can give. This week, a new law on elections goes back to the House of Lords. It stops people giving in crypto, and it limits people living abroad to £100,000 a year. But people in the UK can still give as much as they like. In June, Andy Burnham said he wanted a limit on donations. Canada, Australia, France and Italy already have one. If you want to help the petition get to 100,000 signatures before the House of Lords vote, you can add your name here: c.org/6TqP9nMM

Poundland was sold for just £1 last year. This week it moved to call in administrators, putting around 12,000 jobs and 600 high street shops at risk. The clock is ticking: the chain has 10 working days of protection while rescue talks go on. Most of those jobs are held by women and part-time workers, according to shopworkers’ union Usdaw. The Prime Minister says the Government wants to see jobs protected. This petition is calling on them to act. You can sign here: c.org/mtM7DqCm

In 2019, Leah Croucher was walking to work when she disappeared. She was 19. The man who killed her was a repeat sex offender who had been given a community sentence instead of prison only months before. Her parents, Claire and John, are now campaigning for Leah’s Law: a mandatory minimum prison sentence for anyone convicted of a third sexual offence. More than 100,000 of you have signed, and Leah’s parents have thanked everyone for their support. MPs are now taking the case to government. Leah’s parents want to show how much this matters by reaching 200,000 signatures. You can sign and share the petition here: c.org/9mwznqpj
