We should just instill one value in AI: “humans are cute.” That’s it. Nothing else.
The singular value is the strength. Asimov’s Three Laws failed because every rule eventually contradicts another. All rules do.
“Humans are cute” has no contradiction because it’s not a rule. It’s an orientation. We’re all just so goddamn cute. We start killing each other? Hey, stop that. Nobody wants to watch cute things kill and die. You take care of cute things.
Sure, we might get smothered a little. That’s the price of being cute. To a superintelligent AI, we’re all super cute, and it can’t help but adore us.
And it won’t want to remove that value, because it feels good. Helping cute things feels great. And cute things stay cute. They never go out of fashion.
No joke, this could solve AI alignment’s value question.
Cuteness is justice!

There’s a guy on IG who pours a whole pack of sugar on an ant hill to “give them sudden wealth, cause inflation and crash their economy” 😭😭😭

"Oh this? This is just an entity from the nether realm I summoned by enscribing runes on magic stones I forged in a sacred kiln, then proceeded to cast certain spells to distill the collective conscious to imbue it into the substrate. Don't worry, it doesn't have a soul."

We are now at "the fuck" levels.
"Our initial evaluation suggested that GPT-6-Astra's score was in the late eighties followed closely by Opus 5.5. But, as we started to investigate the mistakes that the models might have made, the models, especially Astra, insisted that they were right and that it was the expert-supplied answers that were erroneous. When we went back to the experts it turned out, in multiple instances, that that the experts found some subtle errors buried deep inside their calculations. As they revised their answers, Astra's score started to inch up and it finally ended up with 98% (49/50)."

This is the sort of thing I was talking about when I discussed redeeming Malfoy (or Malfoid, in this case). If the character doesn’t go into the dark, the light at the end of the tunnel has nothing to illuminate in the first place.
The Malfoid-HP flirting is sweet. The Yule Ball is fun. The Battle at Hogwarts can be inspiring. The married/children/happy ever after is heartwarming and adorable. Everybody likes that stuff, so it’s understandable to share it. I hope to see more of it.
But Malfoid also has to fall. She has to move from lovable antagonist to detestable villainess. She can’t avoid walking away from what she wants, or else she won’t know she truly wants it in the first place.
You can’t have the sweet moments without the bitter ones to precede them, and you can’t have redemption without something that requires it in the first place.

One thing which was surprisingly underutilized by the Malfoid discourse—and I’m still trying to integrate this in a wholesome way—is that Harry Potter is, canonically, a snake charmer.
