The Trevor Project has made the decision to close its account on X. Read our full statement here.
A statement from The Trevor Project announcing its departure from the platform X, formerly known as Twitter. "The Trevor Project has made the decision to close its account on X given the increasing hate & vitriol on the platform targeting the LGBTQ community – the group we exist to serve. LGBTQ young people are regularly victimized at the expense of their mental health, and X's removal of certain moderation functions makes it more difficult for us to create a welcoming space for them on this platform. This decision was made with input from dozens of internal and external perspectives; in particular, we questioned whether leaving the platform would allow harmful narratives and rhetoric to prevail with one less voice to challenge them. Upon deep analysis, we’ve concluded that suspending our account is the right thing to do."

Intersex people can struggle to find affirming, knowledgable mental health care. So we took matters into our own hands🙌 Our youth advocates created a new brochure, "What We Wish Our Therapists Knew." Please, share widely—you never know who might benefit! bit.ly/intersex-therapy-broc…

Using correct pronouns is suicide prevention. Using correct pronouns transcends gender identity. Using correct pronouns is basic human dignity. Using correct pronouns is affirming and validating. Using correct pronouns is allyship in action. #InternationalPronounsDay

At a time when anti-LGBTQ rhetoric & violence are heightened, we rely on allied voices to speak with courage and love. We need supportive adults to protect the livelihoods of LGBTQ young people. We need allies to safeguard their future. Be the one to help us make LGBTQ history.
