It’s time to end homelessness.
We welcome today's Council recommendation on addressing housing exclusion and homelessness.
There are more than one million homeless people in the EU, including almost 400,000 children. Our housing and social protection systems fail to provide adequate housing, and this ultimately leads to homelessness. This is a profound violation of human dignity.
A Housing First approach must become standard practice across Europe.
For us, home is a human right for all.

The European Commission has presented its Methane Omnibus. Our message is clear:
If we allow our climate legislation to be watered down at the first sign of pressure, we will only make ourselves more vulnerable.
The regulation was agreed years ago. Reporting requirements are no excuse to blame EU climate action for gas supply risks.
A delay must not become a rollback. Keep companies accountable for methane leaks. Methane is one of the most powerful greenhouse gases, and cutting its emissions is one of the fastest ways to slow global warming.

It’s impossible to do more with less. When people are protesting & communities are burning, it’s time for real answers on cost of living, housing & more. This MFF proposal ignores the Social Fund, ties Europe's hands on global action & competitiveness, & doesn't add up on own resources.

Today, the Trump administration announced new sanctions against the @IntlCrimCourt, on the same day Navi Pillay was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. This is a direct attack on international justice.
The EU cannot stand idly by while the ICC is targeted by Trump. We again urge the European Commission to activate the EU Blocking Statute to protect EU citizens and companies from having to comply with these sanctions.
Our world must be built on principles, not power. That is why the S&D Group is nominating the ICC and its officials for the 2026 Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought, the European Parliament’s highest human rights honour.
