US laws already on the books prohibit sending US weapons to any country committing gross violations of human rights. Those laws haven’t been enforced when it comes to Israel, which continually violates the Foreign Assistance Act including the Leahy Laws, the Arms Export Control Act, and more. The American public has moved far beyond merely conditioning aid. They want US law enforced and weapons to Israel cut off entirely.

As the US continues to provide billions of dollars in weapons like 2,000-lb bombs to Israel, it has reduced its funding of the World Food Programme. This has forced WFP to end its life-saving food assistance for half a million Palestinians in Gaza.
🚨 BREAKING: Half a million Palestinians in Gaza will lose monthly food assistance as funding shortages force major World Food Programme cuts ahead of winter, ABC News Australia reports. ➤ WFP is reducing its monthly reach from 1.6 million people to 1.1 million. Families receiving two food parcels will now get one, and flour bags will shrink. ➤ Daily hot meals have fallen from 250,000 to 150,000. Some families in hard-to-reach areas will receive meals every other day instead of daily. Cash assistance for 75,000 families is being cut by 40%. ➤ WFP’s Carl Skau said traditional donors, including the U.S. and Europe, have reduced funding. “It’s not because the needs are down … it’s only due to the lack of funding,” Skau told ABC. ➤ Around 1.4 million people face crisis-level hunger or worse, including 200,000 in emergency conditions. WFP says it urgently needs $450 million for six months of operations in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

Israeli settlers, living on stolen Palestinian land, attacked 2 Palestinian Americans in the West Bank— the US government is doing nothing to protect them. The US must stop putting its relationship with a genocidal apartheid state over the safety of its own citizens.
It's olive harvesting season in the occupied West Bank, but for Israeli soldiers and settlers, "it's business as usual" — or, in other words, says @infinite_jaz, "relentless brutalization" and "state-backed settler terrorism."

Trump has announced over $20 billion in weapons to Israel since taking office. He looks the other way when US citizens are killed by Israeli settlers or soldiers, and refuses to investigate. He followed Israel into a disastrous war that has cost every US household at least $2,000 and has no end in sight. He retaliates against US allies when they follow international law by holding Israel and Netanyahu accountable to the law. At every turn, he prioritizes what’s best for Netanyahu’s reelection over what benefits the American people he is supposed to represent.

In September of 2023, Palestinian rapper MC Abdul left Gaza for San Francisco to record an EP. A month later, Israel launched its genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, killing the majority of Abdul’s extended family members. This is the story of how Abdul left Gaza: a story reflected in the lyrics of his new album, “Day by Day (شوي شوي),” out now. Israel controls the borders of Gaza illegally — and over the course of its genocide, it has used that control to starve Palestinians by blocking food, deny Palestinians access to medicine, and prevent Palestinians with serious medical need from leaving Gaza to seek treatment. But Israel has oppressively controlled Gaza’s borders for decades before the genocide, too, trapping Palestinians inside Gaza by denying them the right to leave for scholarships, work, medical care, or to see family. Abdul, now 18, knows that his story is a rare one, and he’s grateful to be alive to tell it. Stream MC Abdul’s new album, “Day by Day (شوي شوي),” wherever you listen to music.

NEXT THURSDAY: Join us for our next book club discussion with Dr. @AssalRad, author of the new book “Don’t Say Palestine: How the Media Manufactured Consent for Genocide.” As Israel’s ongoing genocide against the Palestinians of Gaza enters its fourth year, it is vital to understand just how important the media has been in manufacturing consent for the US government’s illegal complicity, against the wishes of the American people. The Israeli settlers who attacked @wapo journalist Heidi Levine and beat her nearly to death were not acting alone. They were fully supported and backed by Israeli soldiers. This brutality is what daily life looks like for millions of Palestinians living under Israeli military rule.
“Let me die,” American photojournalist Heidi Levine repeats to journalists Jasper Nathaniel as they try to outrun masked Israeli settlers who attacked her on Friday while she covered the olive harvest in the West Bank village of Abu Falah, near Ramallah. Around 80 settlers attacked Palestinian olive harvesters in the village, AP reported. The Palestinian Red Crescent said it treated six people injured in two attacks in Abu Falah. Levine, a freelancer for the Washington Post, told the Committee to Protect Journalists that the settlers knocked her down and kicked her for at least 10 minutes, even after she identified herself as an American journalist. They stole her camera, phone and bag. She was eventually taken to a hospital in Ramallah. "The IDF provided cover, with tear gas and machine guns, while the settlers beat" Levine "nearly to death," Nathaniel wrote, adding that soldiers then shot a Palestinian bystander and aimed their guns at and shoved paramedics trying to treat him. AP photos and circulating videos show Israeli soldiers standing over a wounded Palestinian man after they shot him. Andrey X, an activist also at the scene, said a Palestinian man "saved our lives from the settler-terrorists who attacked the olive harvesters and journalists” armed only with a slingshot.

The Israeli settler attack on Washington Post journalist Heidi Levine was aided and abetted by Israeli soldiers, and marks at least the seventh time that an American or European journalist has been attacked by Israel in the West Bank this year alone. This brutality is a daily reality for Palestinians living under Israeli military rule. Two weeks ago, 51 senators voted against requiring a report on Israel’s attacks against US citizens and its treatment of Palestinians in the West Bank. This is what they are endorsing
The IDF provided cover, with tear gas and machine guns, while the settlers beat @washingtonpost journalist Heidi Levine nearly to death. Then the IDF shot a Palestinian bystander, and aimed their guns and shoved the paramedics who were trying to treat him. All of this documented.

“Could you see if my home is still standing?” For @newlinesmag, I write about how satellite imagery became one of the only ways Palestinians could see what remained of home. I spoke to four, two from Rafah, about what these images show and leave out. newlinesmag.com/first-person…

The Israeli government pushed for a war that has now cost every American household at least $2,000 - with no end in sight. This year the Pentagon raised the threat from Israel's spying on the US to the highest possible level. Israel has used the billions of dollars of weapons we give them to commit genocide, invade their neighbors, and make the world a more dangerous place. Israel should not be an ally of the United States.
Asked how he would have answered if Iran or Israel is a bigger threat the the US, Buttigieg tells Fox News: “Iran is our enemy, Israel is not. They’re an ally so that’s pretty clear to me.”

What is it like to be a Palestinian child in Gaza after 3 years of Israel’s genocide? More than 1.1 million children in Gaza have had their childhoods defined by Israel's genocide: killing, starvation, displacement, amputations, destroyed schools, and trauma that will last a lifetime. 🧵

Israel has also made it nearly impossible for Palestinian children to learn, play, or simply grow up safely. Using US-supplied weapons, Israel has destroyed or damaged more than 90% of Gaza’s schools, along with homes, parks, and other places that once made childhood possible.

Trauma expert Dr. Gabor Maté has said that for Palestinians, trauma is never truly “post” because the violence never ends. For Gaza’s children, three years of genocide will shape lives that have barely begun. Palestinian children deserve to grow up in freedom and safety.

The Israeli government’s actions in Gaza have been beyond “horrific” - they meet the threshold for genocide according to multiple UN commissions and leading human rights organizations. No country committing genocide should be counted as an ally of the United States, and voters deserve a full explanation for why the Biden-Harris administration risked an election to supply Israel with billions of dollars of weapons to carry it out.
Kamala Harris on Israel: It is in our interest to hold our allies accountable for their share of global defense, to ensure trade benefits American workers and consumers, and to uphold our moral obligation to human rights and international law. To be sure, America has at times fallen short on that one. Most recently, the failure to use our leverage to curtail the Israeli government's horrific conduct in the war in Gaza, both under the current administration, which offers Netanyahu a blank check, and our administration before, where we should have acted sooner and more forcefully.

Israel is the only country in the world to routinely place children in military detention, let alone in such openly discriminatory ways and with systematic abuse. As of August 2026, more than 350 Palestinian children are being held in Israel's military prisons, nearly half of them without charge or the right to a trial. US law prohibits US military support from going to any country which consistently engages in human rights violations. It is long past time to cut Israel off and sanction it for its brutal oppression of Palestinians.

41 years ago today, Palestinian American civil rights leader Alex Odeh was assassinated by a pipe bomb at his California office. The FBI linked the attack to the Jewish Defense League. Three suspects were identified, but none were ever prosecuted. And guess where the suspects fled to avoid accountability. Israel.
