For me, public education has been a lifelong calling. My journey with @MDCPS has come full circle: from a student in these very classrooms to a teacher, a school leader, and a superintendent. My commitment to leading, advocating, and showing up for our schools will never change; the mission remains the same: every single child deserves a champion and a world-class education.
Thank you for making this a memorable full-circle moment for me.
A special celebration at the Freedom Tower for my friend Dr. José Dotres and his extraordinary career of service to Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
It was especially meaningful to honor him in a place that represents so much of Miami’s story. Arriving from Cuba at just five years old, he attended our public schools and went on to dedicate his career to the very school system that helped shape his life.
I am grateful for his friendship, partnership and commitment to public education, and for the work we have done together to strengthen the bridge between @MDCollege and @MDCPS and expand opportunities for our students.
Wishing José and his family all the best in this next chapter, and I know his friendship with our MDC family will continue for many years to come. 💙

Thank you to my incredible cabinet. No single leader moves a school district forward alone—it takes a passionate, courageous, and committed team. I am deeply grateful to have worked alongside such exceptional leaders who give their all to Miami-Dade County Public Schools every single day.
Thank you, @MDCPS family! Serving as Superintendent of the school district that helped shape my own life has been the honor and privilege of a lifetime!
What an incredible day at @HGESDolphins! Today we officially cut the ribbon on a brand-new wing—and broke ground on additional school improvements that will serve this community for years to come. While new classrooms and upgraded facilities are exciting, buildings are just buildings. What truly makes a school remarkable is the people inside them, especially the children who bring these spaces to life every single day. Being at Hialeah Gardens Elementary today meant the world to me. Having served as the school principal, I want to thank the entire Hialeah Gardens community for everything you do. #YourBestChoiceMDCPS
Storytelling, broadcasting, and keeping our community connected—it truly takes an extraordinary team. A sincere thank you to our Office of Communications and WLRN for your years of dedication and hard work. Grateful for everything you do!
