Founders and teams needs RPC when they build What is RPC, and why does it matter on Solana? RPC is the connection between your application and the blockchain. Without it, your app generally has no practical way to ask Solana what is happening onchain, submit transactions, or retrieve blockchain data. Think of Solana as a global financial and computing network. Your application is the product built on top of it. RPC is the gateway that lets your product communicate with that network. What does RPC actually do? RPC stands for Remote Procedure Call. In simple terms, it allows one computer or application to request information or an action from another computer over a network. On Solana, an RPC endpoint lets your application communicate with a Solana node. How a founder should think about RPC commercially RPC is more than a technical dependency. It's part of the infrastructure that determines whether your product can deliver a good user experience as it grows. At prototype stage: Get connected quickly and validate that users want the product. At launch: Measure request volume, transaction success, latency and cost per active user. At scale: Optimize unnecessary requests, cache suitable data, assess dedicated capacity and build a fallback strategy. For financial applications: Treat transaction verification and reliable delivery as core product requirements, not optional infrastructure features. For example, a startup building a stablecoin payment app in Thailand might initially have a few dozen users. As merchants and customers grow, the application could generate many balance checks, payment submissions and status queries. RPC capacity and cost become part of the unit economics of every payment.
