the @ikadotxyz validators have completed a major upgrade on mainnet today, including the introduction of 2pc-mpc v4! hooray! 🎉 we call v4 "fast schnorr" because it allows us to achieve thousands of eddsa signatures per second, even with over 100 nodes. this is a major milestone, and a testament to how far ahead of the curve ika is, but i actually want to talk about something else a super cool aspect of this upgrade that's enabled by v4 and that is running now on mainnet is the presignature pool, and this is why i think it's so cool: every mpc protocol has multiple communication rounds, some can be offline (presignature rounds) and some online (signature rounds). the advantage of an offline phase is that it doesn't require all parties to be online and communicate, so can help with optimizing performance presignatures can be message independent, meaning you can compute them without knowing what the message that needs to be signed is, this obviously helps with optimizing performance because you can just accumulate presignatures so they're ready for when there's peak demand with 2pc-mpc v4, the ika network (which is essentially one of the 2 parties in every dwallet together with the respective user) can generate message-independent presignatures. but it goes even further, and generate *client* independent (and as a result public key independent) presignatures, not only for schnorr (live since v3) but also for ecdsa. what are client-independent presignatures? they are presignatures that the network can compute and can be used with any dwallet, for any message. starting today, the ika network computes presignatures in the background continuously, storing them in a pool, so it is never idle. whenever a user requests a signature, they can pay for presignatures from the pool, and essentially only do one online signing round, dramatically reducing the latency to a single round (~400ms), and allowing the network to support peaks of activity without creating bottlenecks. it's hard for people who aren't deep in the weeds of threshold cryptography to appreciate what was required to get here, the level of flexibility and scalability is science fiction when compared to any other threshold signature infrastructure. but the end result is that ika is the only mpc infrastructure in the world that can scale to support high volume use cases (like payments for example) for millions or even billions of users, and the cherry on top is it doesn't even need to sacrifice decentralization to do that! btw, we dubbed 2pc-mpc v5 "fast ecdsa" because it will allow us to achieve thousands of ecdsa sigs/second, which is something even centralized mpc providers can't dream of. it will also be the first single-round mpc protocol in proudction, as the signature will be computed with fhe (using refhe). more on that in the future.

i've met quite a few people in miami (and here online) that asked me "what's the plan for ika", and although we have said all of this many times on many platforms, let me clear it up here in the most direct way possible: 1. ika is dev infra. it's one of the most powerful pieces of dev infra to ever exist in crypto, but for that potential to be realized we need devs and usage for ika's infra, and that has been a big gap that we're working to close in 2 meaningful ways - solana and encrypt. 2. solana is the number 1 dev platform in crypto, which is why ika is coming to solana. ika will still be available on sui, but our focus is solana because that's where all the developers are - since we announced it 6 weeks ago, we've had more developers interested in, exploring and building with ika than we've had in the past 4 years!! there's nothing that's even close to solana when it comes to developer velocity. absolutely nothing. 3. we're also launching an ika product ourselves on solana, which is itself another super powerful piece of developer infrastructure - @encrypt_xyz. privacy is going to have a huge role in crypto in the next few years, and encrypt's FHE tech is the best in the world. there are many developers building with encrypt, and every encrypt tx will also be an ika tx, which means every encrypt builder is also indirectly an ika builder. encrypt is a HUGE WIN for ika. 4. both ika and encrypt are live on solana devnet, and their launch timeline for mainnet will be announced soon. the next season of tasks for ika will be on solana after we go live on mainnet there, which will conclude season 1. 5. i've said it many times before, we are here to make cryptography infra that solves the hardest problems in crypto - custody, interoperability and privacy - and help crypto get mass adoption so it can change the world. over the past 4 years we did the impossible and solved some of the hardest cryptography research problems that many teams before us have tried to solve and failed. in the next few years we're going to do the impossible again with developer adoption. i know that crypto people have ptsd from unserious teams abandoning projects left and right, but this has always been a life-changing mission for us. we don't care about cycles or trends or what vcs think or what people say on twitter. we've been working on this mission day and night for 4 years, and the work is far from done. we will not stop or slow down until 90% of crypto txs are signed with ika. @solana is a game changer for @ikadotxyz, and @encrypt_xyz is a big part of that get ready for the next chapter anon, it's going to be fucking amazing

today we announced @ikadotxyz will be available for @solana builders, and that we are also going to launch @encrypt_xyz on solana bridgeless capital markets encrypted capital markets here are 10 examples to illustrate the practical meaning for builders and the types of businesses they’ll be able to build on solana in 2026. this list of examples will probably take at least 2-3 years until it fully materializes, and it’s by no means an exhaustive list, but it can give you an idea of the level of enablement this infra will create for solana builders 1. decentralized @FireblocksHQ - institutional grade custody for any asset on any chain enforced by solana instead of a centralized, single point of failure, black box 2. faster, cheaper and more secure @chainlink - using FHE-TLS to get price feeds and other APIs directly into a solana program without relying on an oracle 3. faster and more decentralized @near_intents - bring a CEX-level experience to trading any native asset from any chain, right on solana. another version of this for an even smoother CEX-like UX is creating a zero-trust @binance on solana, where all user assets are held centrally but solana enforces the policy only allowing approved actions to be executed 4. multichain agentic wallets - scalable decentralized guardrails for the agentic economy, enforced by a policy on solana, so agents don’t have full unchecked authority over private keys 5. multi-chain lending - use bitcoin, RWAs, or any other asset on any chain as collateral, and borrow any asset on any chain against it - with a solana lending protocol enforcing the loan terms 6. fully confidential defi - private trading and lending at scale that can only be unlocked by the first fast, decentralized and composable privacy infrastructure to ever exist 7. onchain @privy_io - self-custody embedded wallet infrastructure that doesn’t sell out users to stripe but still has amazing user experience - all managed and enforced on solana 8. full financial management apps for businesses and individuals - using FHE-TLS to store users’ encrypted credentials onchain, and enable seamless embedding of defi, tradfi, banking etc. - so all financial actions, in crypto or using web2 APIs, are all managed atomically and executed autonomously with policies enforced by solana. 9. reimagined multisig and wallet products - use solana as a control layer for users to hold any asset on any chain with web2 UX and features like recovery, passkeys, spending limits, access sharing, whitelisting, delayed execution etc. - all without centralized trusted intermediaries and without expanding the attack surface on the user device 10. under collateralized business loans in developing countries - using streamed loans with clear benchmarks and approved plans, and FHE-TLS continuously feeding real time data confidentially, allowing the solana policy to verify that loan usage is according to the commitment, and automatically cut the loan if it isn’t. as i said these are just 10 examples, each one of them a massive opportunity, and i fully expect some of the most successful businesses to use ika and encrypt will be things we didn’t even think of an entirely new design space just opened up on solana, with huge potential for hungry builders who want to be early and build something big bridgeless capital markets encrypted capital markets the work doesn’t end until the best version of every possible business in crypto is built on solana
