After being diagnosed with a rare and fast-growing cancer called glioblastoma, Matthew was determined to stay positive. He proposed to his girlfriend, Carrie, and soon after they got married. Just six weeks later, Matthew died.
Carrie describes their wedding day as a day full of ‘positive love’. Matthew and Carrie stayed up and enjoyed the celebrations with family and friends until two in the morning.

From an early age, Becca loved caring for others and grew up to be a doctor, working on an oncology ward.
After her own diagnosis, Becca found herself being cared for on the same ward she’d been working on just weeks before. She died seven months later.

Fran and her partner Neil own Track the Pack, a dog-walking and pet care business, and they signed up for our Walkies challenge last year. Fran shared: "When my brother was diagnosed with bowel cancer in February 2024, I had an overwhelming feeling to help make a difference."
