Read @OsseChi's op-ed on the need to stop deed theft and enact a temporary eviction moratorium to prevent Black families from having their homes stolen: cityandstateny.com/opinion/2…

Opinion: Hochul must act as deed theft pushes New Yorkers out of their homes

Homeownership cannot be left out of housing justice. Black homeowners deserve protections, and the governor has the power to stop displacement now.

The greatest compliment I mistakenly got in life was when Prince said he really dug my work. Me and Sly were at an event with him and he thought I was Sly. The music was loud and he got the introduction wrong.

Sly Dunbar, a singular titan
BiggestBlackestBarry@BiggestBarryJan 26
If Sly did nothing else but produce and play on the Ini and Black Uhuru albums, he would still be a legend. And he played on 10s of 1000s of songs. Many many uncredited.

This description of Black Uhuru is beautiful. Seeing them for the first time as a young teen, of course with Sly & Robbie, permanently shifted something in my psyche.

Sly mek mi start meds music deep again. Ive never really found words to describe Puma Jones harmonies until now. She sounded like a sorrowful disappointed angel sent by God to determine whether humanity could be saved.

This is nauseating. If this declaration is true, the Trump admin sent an asylee to a prison in El Salvador because officials thought he had a Tren de Aragua tattoo, when in reality it was a tattoo modeled off of Real Madrid. This is why due process matters. Beyond horrifying.
Aaron Reichlin-Melnick@ReichlinMelnick20 Mar 2025
NEW! Sworn declarations filed last night confirm the Trump admin sent INNOCENT people to rot in prison El Salvador, including a professional soccer player tortured by the Maduro regime who entered this country LEGALLY to seek asylum and has NO CRIMINAL RECORD in either country.

Milo Bergé@DjMightyMi3 Mar 2025
My Adrian Brody story goes something like this-while he was DJing in the 90’s in NYC, I went to see him spin a party called ‘The Adrians’ with him and @StretchArmy at Joe’s Pub. I walked in and the now two time Academy award winner was playing Kool G Rap’s “Road To The Riches”

WOW. It was Hip hop that helped me translate my own experiences with police/U.S. into critical thinking and historical analysis. And Stretch and Bobbito were a BIG part of that since I was younger. This means the world to me.

This podcast is a must listen. It’s deeply revealing, deeply disturbing, but necessary. Don’t worry, it is also entertaining as hell.

So many of us know the dominant story that America tells itself about Police is a lie, But not enough of us know the real history. I've been working w/an incredible team to bring you a riveting 8-part audio origin story of the NYPD. Listen at tinyurl.com/du5m6wnk
