@MHI_LS to launch @Jaxa_en's Martin Moons eXploration (MMX) mission on its H3🚀 from Tanegashima LA-Y2.
MMX is a JAXA-led effort, in partnership with @NASA, @CNES, @DLR, and @ESA, to study Mars’ moons Phobos and Deimos and return at least 10 grams of Phobos material to Earth—the first sample return from the Martian system.

NASA’s Perseverance rover has driven farther than any vehicle on another world. On October 11, 2026, its odometer hit 28.10mi/45.22km, surpassing Opportunity’s 28.06mi/45.16km record (2004–2018). The milestone came on sol (a Martian day) 2,006 after just 5.5 years, a distance Opportunity needed nearly 15 years to cover. Production of the new carbon composite forward dome for Neutron’s Stage 1 propellant tank is underway.
Our automated fiber placement (AFP) machine follows a computer-controlled course to lay down thousands of strands of carbon fiber - each thinner than a human hair - at speeds of up to 100 meters per minute to create Stage 1’s structures on custom molds.
Once the AFP machine is finished with the new forward dome it will be rolled out, inspected, then prepared for the curing process to harden the carbon composite.
