Absolutely brilliant from @soundboy
Everyone should read this. So many insights in his essay but the standout is that such is the concern about the rate of progress even inside the organisations, they want politicians to step in.

What have we come to w this gig economy?
1. A building concierge refuses entry to a mortally ill man collapsed outside
2. An employer incessantly pings to demand delivery but fails to make a welfare call
3. A consumer steps over the mortally ill to get to their purchases 10/ – at Poplar, London

“In order to work at all, a price or tax on carbon would have to be very large and very painful.” policytensor.substack.com/p/…
This kind of crap is what’s blocking climate action. The Telegraph (the UK govt’s house title) pulling out its greatest hits of deflection, delay, distraction and scare-mongering with its climate coverage recently.
Impact of the IPCC report feels a bit blunted from the multiple and fragmented reactions. What if there was a more singular message: agree on a big global carbon tax at COP, and apply it!
Terrific work by Carbon Brief here. A must-read for anyone looking to understand the IPCC report. Bravo @LeoHickman @DrSimEvans et al carbonbrief.org/in-depth-qa-…

Carbon offset forests burning as a result of wildfires fueled by climate change is so darkly satirical that you'd expect it to be a Black Mirror episode, but it's reality. We can't net-zero our way out of disaster ft.com/content/3f89c759-eb9a…
Paying for tree planting to carry on pumping out emissions. The messy business of carbon offsets is turning into a mega financial market
