As moving as it is to hear Russian POWs call their parents, apologise etc. I am begging everybody to stop spreading photos of POWs. You don’t *know* that there’s no coercion and the best way to make sure there’s less coercion of POWs in the world is to not spread this stuff.

Since "The Population Bomb" came out so long ago, most folks haven't actually read it. (Denver Public Library didn't even have a copy; I had to request it through a university!) One of the best ways to reject its lasting influence, then, may be having people actually sit with how gross and radical Ehrlich's words and 'solutions' were.

The defense of shoplifting from the left has roots in the idea that 'the personal is political'
The artsy people who think it's fine to steal from Whole Foods are envious losers, downwardly mobile types who think they're owed something by society.
They can't grapple honestly with their own lack of success, or how they perceive themselves. So they tell themselves a fairy tale about how it's actually fine to steal, mumbling incoherently about Big Business or Life Under Late Stage Capitalism or whatever pre-defined phrase hits their ego in the right place.
They don't have the finances to buy what they want. But they're entitled to that fancy hand cream, life owes them that neatly pre-packaged sushi roll! And so it's fine if they steal it, because, you know, Bezos is, umm, killing the planet. Yeah!
They try to make their personal grievances into a political issue to justify their lack of morals.
Funny theme through this piece of people feeling entitled to steal because they’re artists curbed.com/article/whole-foo…

Don’t be mistaken: the rapprochement between Germany and Italy won’t drive - but will stall - Europe’s independence.
With France politically weakened and the Franco-German axis stalled, many watched last weekend’s Rome summit between Merz and Meloni as a potential new motor for Europe. But the agreement they signed and its direction mark a DANGEROUS political turn.
Faced with Trump’s tariff threats and geopolitical pressure, Merz and Meloni are doubling down on deregulation in the name of “competitiveness” while going soft on defending European sovereignty.
The irony is stark. Merz and Meloni claim to want a “Europe aware of its role in the world” and “strategic autonomy.” Yet their non-paper reads like a corporate wish list: more omnibus packages, fewer rules, looser state aid controls, with almost nothing on the hard stuff: capital markets union, industrial strategy, or how to finance the investments Europe desperately needs.
While they invoke Draghi’s report and Letta’s, they cherry-pick only the deregulation bits, ignoring their call for common European investment and strategic state aid.
Worse still, on Trump: these are the leaders who pushed von der Leyen into accepting asymmetric tariff deals - and today unprecedentedly and unashamedly push the @Europarl_EN & its President @EP_President to ratify it against the MEPs’ majority - and blocked the anti-coercion instrument when the U.S. threatened Greenland.
Each omnibus package, each regulatory rollback, each concession to “national flexibility” chips away at the EU’s authority to protect its market and citizens.
In the new geopolitical landscape, this dismantles the tools Europe needs to defend itself, and risks turning EU member states into “ideal vassals” of Trump’s abuses.
The @_FriedrichMerz @GiorgiaMeloni motor isn’t driving Europe toward autonomy. It’s steering us toward greater dependency, be it with the US, Russia or China.
Do you agree? @DaveKeating @EnricoLetta #EUCO

In Sweden politicians are debating the catastrophically high unemployment rate (about 8ish percent), while Denmark is patting its back for the low (3-4ish).
The employment rate is all that matters.

Hey Donald, Ukrainian people are very grateful to their true allies and they will not forget who really stood by for their side. Imagine Denmark asks Ukraine one day for help with a drone assault brigade to defend Greenland against a US Invasion? You sure you can afford that casualty numbers Putin daily has on the battlefield. You‘re sure you want to send your US service members into a 20 miles wide AFU 🇺🇦 FPV kamikaze drone kill zone? I think it’s a bad idea. Very bad idea

NEW: @potus letter to @jonasgahrstore links @NobelPrize to Greenland, reiterates threats, and is forwarded by the NSC staff to multiple European ambassadors in Washington. I obtained the text from multiple officials:
Dear Ambassador:
President Trump has asked that the following message, shared with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, be forwarded to your [named head of government/state]
“Dear Jonas: Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America. Denmark cannot protect that land from Russia or China, and why do they have a “right of ownership” anyway? There are no written documents, it’s only that a boat landed there hundreds of years ago, but we had boats landing there, also. I have done more for NATO than any other person since its founding, and now, NATO should do something for the United States. The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland. Thank you! President DJT”
