19 Ugandans have received kidneys from their relatives since 2023, and in under 20 attempts, we have crossed the Jordan; we can confidently say that, 'Ugandans are having transplant surgery, In Uganda, by Ugandan.'
You can take this statement to the bank and cash it.
Congratulations to The Ugandan team, Mulago @MulagoReferral Management, @MinofHealthUG Leadership, and the combined leadership of @mkainerugaba and @KagutaMuseveni .
I know why am choosing the persons to twit about, so convulse sparingly and stay fine.
UGANDA's Independence Came in September.
@Fireliglntfi , @ntvuganda , @ubctvuganda please come for the full story

Thank you so much to DVCAA Prof. @SsaliSarah and her team for the warm welcome & robust conversation! We are proud of all that our MUYU alumni have accomplished in 20 years and look forward to the future growth of this collaboration. @YaleGH @YaleIMed @YaleNursing @Road2IR @YNHH
Our collaboration with @Yale formally started with @YaleMed in 2006. Fondly known as MUYU, our collaboration will this year celebrate two decades!
As part of this milestone, co-directors Dr. Tracy Rabin (@Tracy_Rabin) and Prof. Harriet Mayanja-Kizza today paid a courtesy call on the DVCAA Prof. @SsaliSarah. Our collaboration has to-date trained 32 junior and mid-level as well as 3 senior faculty, and engaged 50 @MakerereCHS students in clerkship @YaleMed.
MUYU has also hosted 192 residents and 75 career physicians from @YaleMed on rotation @MulagoReferral, Improved Infrastructure and trained Senior House Officers through various projects such as RASHOTS, Emergency Medicine, Interventional Radiology (IR), Maternal health, and made Material contributions towards mobile mammography, ultrasound scans @UgandaCancerIns, nephrology, @MulagoReferral ICU, among others.
The DVCAA, with great pride, acknowledged the milestones achieved by MUYU and thanked the co-directors for ensuring that the collaboration remains vibrant. She equally acknowledged the need to consider a medical museum project to archive discoveries that have shaped global health, as well as explore capacity development in the areas of Speech and Language Therapy, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as Neurosurgery.
Dr. @Tracy_Rabin thanked the DVCAA for highlighting areas of additional collaboration and expressed MUYUs pride at seeing alumni such as Dr. Eva Nabawanuka now start local training programmes in Interventional Radiology. She noted that a big celebration of the two decades of collaboration is planned for 2027, an is expected to be graced by @Yale Vice Provost for International Affairs among others.

In some instances for PAEs, an artery may seem like an option, but isn’t feasible. For Dr. Rajasekhara Ayyagari, this became the case. In this clip, Dr. Ayyagari reviews a previous case in which he needed to become adaptable and troubleshoot to use a different artery pathway. With provided imaging, he demonstrated how he utilized balloon microcatheters for embolization.
