"Russia, frankly, has been fine on Ukraine. They haven't been doing much."
- President Trump, earlier today
A horrific Russian strike in the Kharkiv region. A āshahedā struck people directly ā in a park near an ordinary cafĆ©. Pure atrocity. Six people were killed, including children. A little girl was killed in a stroller ā her name was Angelina, she was just over a year old, born in August 2025⦠Her motherās name was Inna. She died in the hospital⦠Another girl who was killed was 11 years old. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Another 14 people were injured, including six more children.
I am grateful to everyone who supports Ukraine under these circumstances and helps us shoot down āshaheds,ā shoot down missiles, and stop Russian assaults. These are horrific photos, but behind them are shattered lives and the truth about this war. Lives must be protected. Ukraine needs air defense. You can't think about making money with Russia as long as it continues its asinine war. We ask that sanctions on Russia stay in place as long as the killings continue. We ask America to be strong, and we ask it to apply the Lindsey Graham law. We ask Europe to continue its support. We ask that everything possible be done to bring peace and guarantee security. Ukraine wants peace. It is Russia that has insisted on continuing the killing all this time. The world has enough strength to stop the war. That strength must finally be used ā against the murderers.

PS Iāve met Putin many times and listened in on calls with him as well. I also speak Russian. Yes he is soft spoken, deliberate, and measured. So what? Heās still a killer. He still launched a barbaric invasion of Ukraine, that has produced tragic loss of life not seen on this scale in Europe since WWII.
Vance: "I've never met Putin in person. I've spoken to him on the phone. He was calmer than you might expect. The American media has a stereotype of him. He's very deliberate and measured in his words.
I think, at his core, he's someone who cares about Russia's interests as he sees them. One reason he respects the President is that he recognizes the President cares about the interests of the American people."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Ukraineās Starlink systems remain capped at 161 km/h (100 mph), according to Christopher Miller of the Financial Times. He said exceeding the limit ācauses the Starlink connection to cut out completely, resulting in the loss of the drone,ā adding that interceptor drones canāt function.
Zelenskyy said Ukraine tested whether SpaceX is truly facing technical issues, as the U.S. side told Kyiv, by sending vehicles with Starlink terminals into EU territory. He said they moved at more than 180 km/h and the systems āworked perfectly.ā He said Ukraine has logs and evidence, and concluded the restrictions apply inside Ukraine but not in the EU, which he called a āplanned operation.ā
Latest: āZelenskyy tells reporters over WhatsApp that restrictions on Ukraine's Starlink systems remain. Interceptor drones can't function, logistics and operations hobbled. The maximum speed is 161 kph; "exceeding this limit causes the Starlink connection to cut out completely, resulting in the loss of the drone."
He says Ukraine has done tests to determine whether SpaceX is truly facing technical issues, as has been told Kyiv by the US side, or if this is a "deliberate operation... to restrict us, cut us off, and prevent us from defending ourselves and protecting our people, both at the front and among the civilian population."
He says Ukraine "sent a couple of vehicles equipped with Starlink terminals into European Union territory."
"They moved at speeds exceeding 180kph, and the Starlink systems worked perfectly. We have the relevant logs and evidence to prove this."
He adds: "The conclusion is clear: the restrictions are in effect within Ukraine but do not apply within the European Union. In other words, this is a planned operation."

āElon Musk approached Donald Trump with the idea of slowing down Starlink in Ukraine, The Telegraph can reveal.
The billionaire tech entrepreneur approached the US president with the proposal to introduce speed limits on the system, which hampered Ukraineās drone defences, according to four sources familiar with the discussions.
One of the sources said Mr Trump āagreedā with Mr Muskās suggestion, paving the way for the Pentagon to execute the slowdown on Starshield, the military-grade version of the satellite communications system.

A lot of folks who hate lawyers apparently lack the courage to hate lawyer impersonators.
Failing the bar exam isnāt the embarrassing part of this story š¬
Explaining that youāre a ālawyer,ā just not an āattorney,ā after serving as āgeneral counselā is where things get interesting.
Hereās what reportedly happened:
> Katie Zacharia graduated from Pepperdineās law school in 2011. She took the California bar exam, failed, and never retook it.
> That first part is nothing to mock. The bar is hard. Plenty of excellent attorneys failed on their first attempt.
> But graduating from law school and being authorized to practice law are separate accomplishments.
> One gets you a diploma. The other gets you clients whose problems you are legally permitted to make your problems.
> Zacharia went on to work in China, publicly describe herself as a lawyer, and hold the title of āgeneral counselā at Fix California.
> When questions about her credentials surfaced, she offered an explanation: she says Pepperdineās president told her she could call herself a ālawyer,ā but not an āattorneyā or āesquire.ā
> That is an incredible amount of responsibility to place on a synonym.
> There IS a version of this distinction floating around the internet:
> āLawyerā means someone educated in law.
> āAttorneyā means someone licensed to practice it.
> You can find people making that argument. You can find dictionary discussions about it.
> The problem is that California has an actual statute.
> Business and Professions Code § 6126 covers people who practice law without authorization AND people who hold themselves out as entitled to practice law.
> That second part matters.
> You donāt necessarily have to walk into a courtroom, file a lawsuit, or bill someone $800 an hour to create a problem. How you represent your qualifications to the public can itself matter.
> And the statute doesnāt say, āUnless you remembered to use ālawyerā instead of āattorney.āā
> The question is what you are communicating about your authority to practice law. A different noun doesnāt automatically fix that.
> Which brings us to āgeneral counsel.ā
> Thatās a particularly difficult title to square with the explanation.
> When an organization introduces its general counsel, people generally understand that to mean the person responsible for its legal affairs.
> Nobody thinks, āAh yes, their designated law school graduate.ā
> A watchdog group has now filed a State Bar complaint. A complaint is an allegation, not a finding, and whether her specific conduct violated the law requires more than watching a clip.
> But the broader lesson is pretty simple:
> A J.D. is a real accomplishment. So is working internationally. Neither needs to be inflated into a license you donāt hold.
All she had to say was āI graduated from law school and worked at a firm in China, BUT I'M NOT LICENSED TO PRACTICE."
Why lie? Geez.

The bigger story is that the richest man in the world helped the Paxton campaign spread a completely made up story about his opponent and no one will face any consequences
Texas Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico's viral hospital rumor has been debunked by time-stamped security footage reviewed by The New York Times ā but the bigger story may be why his campaign sat on the evidence while the conspiracy theory exploded across social media for days.
Talarico disappeared from the campaign trail for nine days in early October, fueling rampant speculation that he had secretly traveled to an Ohio behavioral health center. His campaign maintained he was home with the flu, and security camera images from his Austin home now back that up. But GOP strategists and journalists are torching the campaign's response as "mind-numbing malpractice" for not releasing the footage sooner.
With Election Day just weeks away in one of the biggest Senate races in the country, the question has shifted from where Talarico was to why his team let the narrative spiral unchecked when they had the receipts the entire time.

Key point: Starshield is controlled by DOD. The speed based throttling came from the DOD, not Musk, meaning that Trump almost certainly authorized this personally.
Replying to @KofmanMichael
Yes - normal Starlink has been speed-restricted since 2025, so the issue is with Starshield - indicating that this is a DoD action (not directly SpaceX).
Ukrainian OWA drones (plus some interceptor drones, helicopters, and planes) have apparently been using Starshield.

President Trump did the right thing by trying to force an energy ceasefire. You have to *try*. But unfortunately a deal depends on the parties involved - and Putin is a backstabbing liar.
Putin should not get away with trying to embarrass our President. He should regret it.
Apply the sanctions under the full force of the new law. Enable Ukrainian drones to bomb the HELL out of Russian infrastructure. Itās time. It costs us NOTHING.
My money is on Trump to do what needs to be done. He doesnāt like it when lesser men betray his trust. And Putin did exactly that.
