Thursday was cold on Sittingbourne station waiting for train to Sheerness but no access to platform waiting room and no one to ask. Back from London Sat pm, even colder + hour wait for train! Still no access for many cold passengers. See it say it sort it please!
@Se_Railway
Great morning with Camden geography network group of #primaryteachers yesterday. We explored curriculum changes, maps, disciplinary thinking, strategies for adaptive teaching in #geography & we did a bit of #fieldwork. Great host school too!
What a great excuse for fieldwork - if you need one! #geographyteacher #seasons #weather #climateeducation #fun #getoutside

So @EE so many problems with internet dropping out, slow & just a pain. Plus new router won’t work with my newer (old) laptop. To make things worse your App is clunky & unresponsive & locks me out when I want to check connection & speed. I cannot wait for contract to end.

Scotland just delivered one of the most powerful clean-energy statements in modern history. On multiple occasions, the country’s wind turbines generated around 200% of national electricity demand, producing far more power than Scotland itself needed.
It can be done!!!
No time to wait. #ActOnClimate #renewables

It is often repeated that El Niño is a natural phenomenon. It is, like warm days in summer, rain in autumn, hurricanes in the Caribbean & unusually dry periods in otherwise wet regions. Like all those, however, it is the strength & frequency that is not natural.
El Niño is this time at an extreme never before recorded & the scientist who sounded the alarm on climate to the US Congress in the 1980s says ‘The abnormal El Niño strength is itself likely human-driven’.
More than 90% of the heat so far trapped by human pollution has been absorbed by the ocean. Now some of it is being released again. 2027 is thus set to be more extreme than 2026, & widely forecast to be the warmest year recorded.
That in turn will spark extreme weather of different kinds, including drought & flood, with knock on effects across food, water, infrastructure, the natural world & health.
Making preparations for extreme conditions in 2027, & the rest of this year, would be wise. It is also important, I think, for discussions about the intensity of this El Niño to register a likely link with human impacts on the atmosphere & ocean.
Or we could just fill the media with coverage about Harry & Megan…
The El Nino is off the charts. Can people see the real issue and accept the implications? We may be getting closer. See the Bigger Problem – mailchi.mp/caa/super-duper-e…

I’ve just read this report bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cgk4… @andyburnham & am praying it relates to the environmental destruction of our SSSI Sheppey coastline through illegal flytipping that islanders have been campaigning & crying about for several years now. Thank you, in hope.

When I’m not ‘doing geography’ I’m lucky enough to be doing this! Playing our own songs as ‘Wild Roots’ alongside legends Lynn Gosney & @CoorBlimeyGuv (check out his latest single). Latest gig also had Pete (from Touch the Earth) adding extra quality on violin. Pics Nina & James
