Congress: Watch what happens when you post receipts instead of a press release.

Then in August Instacart threatened to sue Jobs Now for promoting their hidden jobs, and we were forced to take their ads down
But we didn’t let them shut us up, and alerted Newsweek and The Hill to Instacarts discrimination

Amazon is laying off American workers while a staffing contractor working at Amazon is helping international students find jobs with visa sponsorship.
On October 23, One To World is hosting a virtual event to coach international students on interviewing, networking, and navigating the U.S. job market.
The event contact works for Insight Global and is contracted to Amazon.
Amazon ranked #1 on the federal government’s 2024 OPT/STEM-OPT employer list with 10,167 reported participations.
Insight Global, a major staffing company, also made the first page of the list of OPT employers with 497. Its certified H-1B labor applications also surged from 16 in 2022 to 399 in 2026.
The event even includes instructions saying international students should not be referred to as “migrants.”
So while American tech workers are being laid off, a staffing contractor embedded at Amazon is helping foreign students prepare to compete for American jobs.
Who’s organizing mock interviews and visa-free career pipelines for the Americans being replaced?
Is September, Texas DPS confirmed a technical issue caused an unknown number of voter registrations to not be processed.
On Thursday, they learned of another issue with voter registrations being processed, but this time they pointed the finger at Civix.
Civix, a company you’ve probably never heard of, received a $36M contract for the Texas Election Administration Management (TEAM) system, happens to be a steady employer of H-1Bs. What I want to know is how many of these foreigners are working on critical Texas election infrastructure?
Assuming Civix points fingers at DPS, lets look at that side of the data handoff…
LCA files show Wise Equation Solutions, LLC, claim H-1Bs are placed directly at Texas DPS, on a remote work arrangement, in Quality Assurance roles.
Oh the irony…
So much for Tax Payer funded opportunities going to Texans.

Texas county officials said they learned Thursday about another state error that has backlogged thousands of voter registration records.
The total number of backlogged records wasn’t immediately available, but the secretary of state’s office told election officials that not all counties were impacted. bit.ly/4hQS7v6
The L-1 creates a unique challenge now that India is offering incentives to their diaspora to open Indian based companies back home.
These Indian offshoots will leverage this visa to import workers without having to deal with the attempted H-1B reforms.
This is just another reason we need a complete immigration moratorium and a modernized INA. Anything short of this is wasted effort meant to create talking points - without solving the problem.
NO ONE TALKS ABOUT L-1. AND THE GOVERNMENT GIVES US NO PAY DATA ON IT
H-1B gets all the attention. L-1 is the visa nobody watches:
• Multinationals use it to move their own overseas staff into U.S. jobs
• No cap. No lottery.
• No wage floor. No public pay records at all.
• No rule against laying off Americans first
• No duty to recruit U.S. workers
• Stays of up to 7 years (L-1A) or 5 years (L-1B "specialized knowledge")
• 310,000–337,000 L-1 workers in the U.S., per the AFL-CIO
H-1B at least leaves a paper trail: 6.6M filings since FY2015, searchable by employer, county and wage.
L-1 is a black box.
It’s hard not to read this post from a former recruiter from Amazon and Microsoft without assuming her focus has always been on placing international candidates.
Recruiters are why hiring managers never see resumes from American workers.
Let Abbott have his town halls.
