The project didn’t pivot because of “market feedback.”
It pivoted because users ignored the feature we spent 3 weeks arguing about.
Very humbling. Very educational
Designers will spend 6 hours adjusting spacing to avoid a 10-minute conversation.
This is called efficiency.
Design systems exist
so future-you doesn’t have to ask past-you
“what the hell was I thinking?”
Past-you never answers
Inspiration doesn’t come from mood boards.
It comes from shipping, breaking things, listening to users, and refining taste.
Momentum beats motivation every time.
Your brand isn’t your logo.
Your brand is how people explain you to a friend when you’re not in the room.
Design either helps that sentence… or confuses it.
Clients don’t want “modern.”
They want “whatever Apple did, but cheaper and by Friday.”
Design is translation
The most underrated skill in tech right now:
Knowing what not to build.
Restraint is a competitive advantage.
The best websites feel fast even when they aren’t.
Perceived performance > raw performance.
Design is psychology wearing pixels.
I seem to be an advocate for a good biography…. For a few reason, but mainly the speed of learning… it’s a life of another human, successful or not that can teach you a lifetime of skill, inspiration and life lessons within a couple of pages… #lifelessons #biographies
Most startups don’t fail from lack of ideas.
They fail from lack of taste.
Execution is taste applied repeatedly over time.
If your product needs a tutorial video longer than 60 seconds, you don’t have a marketing problem.
You have a design problem.
AI won’t replace designers.
But designers who use AI will replace designers who don’t.
Same story as every new tool.
