@tylerblack32 & @NightShiftMD were instrumental in the choreography of the COVID dance routines in our empty hospitals during COVID. Ontario hospital utilization/occupancy fell from 115% to 62% during spring/ summer 2020, as elective surgeries, & diagnostics were cancelled and people were fearful to leave their homes. However the idle healthcare hands were revitalized into fancy footwork during the pandemic.
They told us the hospitals were overflowing and people were dying. They told us we had to wear masks and that they had to lock us down for our own security. They also told us the vaccines were safe and effective. Never forget what they did in the name of "science."

Swiss farmers planted flowers between their crops and watched pest damage drop by over half. The UK is now running the same trial across 15 farms. The reason this works is embarrassingly simple. A Swiss study on winter wheat found that fields with wildflower strips had 40 to 53% fewer leaf beetle pests than fields without. Crop damage dropped 61%. The mechanism is simple. Wildflowers feed hoverflies, lacewings, parasitic wasps, ladybugs, and ground beetles. Those insects eat the aphids, beetle larvae, and caterpillars that farmers would otherwise spray for. A few meters of wildflowers hosts an unpaid pest control crew that would jump at the chance to whoop some aphid ass. In apple orchards where no insecticides had been used for five years, plots with wildflower alleyways had 9.2% damaged fruit. Control plots without flowers had 32.5%. The UK is now running a five-year trial across 15 farms placing 6-meter flower strips through the middle of fields, not just at the edges, because the beneficial insects can't reach the center of a large field otherwise. This works the same way in a backyard vegetable garden as it does on a commercial farm. Plant native flowering species near your tomatoes, beans, and squash. The pests still show up, but the predators show up too. Study doi: 20151369

Tucson, Arizona changed the color of 20,000 streetlights, cut light pollution by 7%, prevented countless wildlife deaths, and saved taxpayers a boatload of money. Most cities retrofitting streetlights to LED chose cool-white bulbs in the 4,000K range because they're bright and cheap. Cool-white light scatters upward and sideways at higher rates than the old sodium lamps, which is why light pollution has actually increased in many cities that switched to LED. Hundreds of millions of migrating songbirds navigate by stars and get pulled off course by that scatter every year, many of them fatally. Tucson chose warm-white 3,000K LEDs instead, added full shielding so the light points down rather than up or sideways, and programmed adaptive dimming: 90% brightness from sunset to midnight, 60% after that until dawn. It was a win for wildlife and taxpayers: the whole thing costs less to run than what it replaced. Philadelphia, LA, and Phoenix have all run LED retrofits that made skyglow worse. The technology to do it right exists and isn't expensive. It's a procurement decision, which means it's a political one. And political decisions are ones you can influence. Your city council chose your streetlights. Most of them have never been asked about color temperature, shielding, or dimming schedules, not because those things don't matter, but because most people don't know to ask. The night sky is habitat. The darkness migrating birds need to navigate is habitat. We've been treating it as a waste product of lighting decisions made by people who weren't thinking about birds. Ask your council what color temperature your streetlights are. Most of them won't know the answer.

This afternoon I finally got chance to return to this awful alleyway in Caldmore, Walsall. Not been here since early December and it was as bad as expected. A horror of litter, dumped clothes human waste and leaves. I litter picked and used my shovel to clean as much as possible.

Chopped up litter, polystyrene, clothing all on these verges after mowers went over them. They never litter pick prior to driving tractor towed mowers over. Took ages to collect

Sadly right now our choices are clear, we either look at it or clean it up, councils are just not coming, the time is NOW to step up and get cleaning. We need local volunteers to take back or streets from the mess. LIke I do in Walsall, I cleaned this, I pushed & got a new bin

It's simple. Being consumed in hating the neighbour will help one to not see what's going on in ones own home. If the sky is always falling, you won't have time to look down on the ground where there's really problems🫤
