Today’s The New Beckwood Man of the Match was Dom Mellor 👏 The left back has taken to life so well at the EC Surfacing Stadium and impressed today from the off. A combative display and a top work rate were enough to see him take away The New Beckwood voucher 🍻 #TheZebras

𝑾𝒆 𝑾𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝑹𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒎. ❤️ #TheZebras 🦓

Here’s Macca’s post match reaction after this afternoons win. Macca touched on the importance of the squad and the exceptional impact from the subs 👏 #TheZebras

All over and we take all three points! Goals from Southwell x2 and a Henry Parr stunner 👏 Onto next week 🔜 A fantastic display from the team and another clean sheet 🧤 #TheZebras

𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐬 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞! The striker makes it two goals and an assist from the bench this afternoon as he rattles it in from close range, a proper poachers finish. Game over ❌ ⌚️ 82’ —🦓 3-0 🟠⚫️ 🤝 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿: The New Beckwood #TheZebras 🦓

York and Richardson are replaced by Thompson and Joe Flemming. ⌚️ 79’ —🦓 2-0 🟠⚫️ 🤝 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿: The New Beckwood #TheZebras 🦓

𝐀 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐲 𝐇𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐫 🪄 Now that’s one of the best finishes of the season! Another substitute that’s come onto the pitch and scored, Henry bends one into the top left hand corner from the edge of the area and what a finish it is. I still couldn’t tell you which is his weak foot 😂 ⌚️ 78’ —🦓 2-0 🟠⚫️ 🤝 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿: The New Beckwood #TheZebras 🦓

Southwell comes so close to his second. A brilliant ball is hung up for Dayle and his looping header almost drops in at the back post but it’s another great save by Bason. ⌚️ 75’ —🦓 1-0 🟠⚫️ 🤝 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿: The New Beckwood #TheZebras 🦓

Parr is on for Batty. ⌚️ 74’ —🦓 1-0 🟠⚫️ 🤝 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿: The New Beckwood #TheZebras 🦓

I have to say some of the defending on show by Athersley this afternoon has been immense. In the past few minutes the defensive unit have blocked two efforts off the line, the former similar to the Thomas Booth clearance. You feel a second goal is imminent but the effort from the away team cannot be underestimated. ⌚️ 72’ —🦓 1-0 🟠⚫️ 🤝 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿: The New Beckwood #TheZebras 🦓

Hill is booked for an ill timed slide tackle. ⌚️ 68’ —🦓 1-0 🟠⚫️ 🤝 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿: The New Beckwood #TheZebras 🦓

𝗚𝗚𝗚𝗚𝗢𝗢𝗢𝗢𝗔𝗔𝗔𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗟𝗟𝗟 🤩 Days Southwell is off the bench and breaks the deadlock with a superb finish. The striker hits it on the spin into the bottom corner and sends The Zebras wild, get in there Dayle 👏 ⌚️ 65’ —🦓 1-0 🟠⚫️ 🤝 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿: The New Beckwood #TheZebras 🦓

Ellender and Southwell replace Collins and Hutson. ⌚️ 62’ —🦓 0-0 🟠⚫️ 🤝 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿: The New Beckwood #TheZebras 🦓

So close again! Hutson plays it out to the right hand side of the box but York’s drilled clearance is just over the head of Josh Batty. ⌚️ 55’ —🦓 0-0 🟠⚫️ 🤝 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿: The New Beckwood #TheZebras 🦓

Some of the best defending you’ll see down here all season. The Athersley man which I believe was Thomas Booth, poked the ball round the post from close range and it’s difficult to see how. York was just on his shoulder after Hutson drilled it across goal. The defender contorted his body so well so avert the danger without turning it into his own net. ⌚️ 50’ —🦓 0-0 🟠⚫️ 🤝 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿: The New Beckwood #TheZebras 🦓

We’re back underway. 🦓 0-0 🟠⚫️ 🤝 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿: The New Beckwood #TheZebras 🦓

All square in what has been a pretty equal game. Higton’s made some superb stops but we have gone close through Batty and York. ⌚️ 45’ —🦓 0-0 🟠⚫️ 🤝 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿: The New Beckwood #TheZebras 🦓

Another fantastic save by Higton. The best chance of the game. He parries it away from danger, the past five minutes or so the game has swung in the away sides favour. ⌚️ 38’ —🦓 0-0 🟠⚫️ 🤝 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿: The New Beckwood #TheZebras 🦓

Ogbedor comes closest for the away team. A perfect cross meets his head at the far post but it’s just over Higton’s crossbar. You sense Athersley do have the threat to break the deadlock. ⌚️ 35’ —🦓 0-0 🟠⚫️ 🤝 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿: The New Beckwood #TheZebras 🦓

What a save from Bason 🧤 He scrambles across to the far post to tip Batty’s scuffed header around the upright. It’s cleared for what must be out seventh corner. ⌚️ 32’ —🦓 0-0 🟠⚫️ 🤝 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿: The New Beckwood #TheZebras 🦓
