I know many Mincéirí / Travellers have been frustrated by the most recent census - as while many, though no where enough of us, have a sense of space and lore of location, many are just not recorded.
Delighted to find this ancestor and kin:

Little Christmas, Old Christmas, Nollaig na mBan - names shift & the meaning grows. Image by Ellen (Cork), celebrating Gypsy, Traveller & Roma women, and the countless unseen labours of women too often without space or acknowledgement x
'Waiting For Snow' drifts out and off onto the airwaves this Christmas: a gathering of radio essays by a glistening array of fierce writers, with a wee small piece of my own speckled among the delightful graupel - airing on 29th & 30th December at 1.30pm on RTÉ Radio 1 x
This is a call to be a witness.
Among others ‘The Quiet Between Two Texts’, a glimpse between the Irish Constitution & the 1963 Report of the Commission on Itinerancy - a text largely unknown outside of those that have felt it's serrated teeth.
Temple Bar Gallery 4pm tomorrow x

ALT mages are from ‘State, in Relation’ and ‘Omitted Provisions’, two creative outpourings from a collective literature project currently @Dublinartbookfair @Templebargalleryandstudios. It has been utterly thrilling to work with @sonya.gildea @annemarienichurreain @nathanhughodonnell @clare__bell @susan_tomaselli and @nithykasa. Installation is in place until tomorrow - panel and presentation tomorrow at 4. The @artscouncilireland have been pretty tome too with supporting it all!

I grew up with ‘Old Edward’, even in his late 70s he loved learning new Traveller words:
“Three days after, I’d think of each word… it’s wonderful.”
Every story, recording, text is a sacred gift xxx
