We wrapped up the 2026 Daffodil Project this weekend at A. Philip Randolph Square in Harlem and St. Mary’s Park in the Bronx.
Thanks to everyone who picked up bulbs and native seed, and to our incredible volunteers!
Thanks to the A. Philip Randolph Square Neighborhood Alliance (@harlem_lane) for hosting us in Harlem.
Special thanks to @NYCParks for their invaluable partnership over the past 25 years of daffodil distributions and plantings.

"The city could effectively double the size of parks by barring cars on interior drives, which were originally intended for horse carriages."
NY4P in @StreetsblogNYC on @NYCMayor's decision to allow cars back on Forest Park's Freedom Dr ahead of schedule.

Thanks to @conedison for supporting this program.
We’ll learn how vacant land, flooding, heat, housing, and access to public space shape the neighborhood, while highlighting community-led efforts to build a more resilient future. The walk will create space to connect and share ideas for the future of Edgemere/Far Rockaway.
This tour is organized by NY4P, @realedgemereCLT and @OurWaterfront with support from @DRichardsQNS, Edgemere Alliance, Garden by the Bay, @larubeyasurfing, Campaign Against Hunger and @RegionalPlan.

@galeabrewer New Yorkers for Parks gave out daffodil bulbs in Union Square on Oct 4 2026! This is the 25th anniversary of the giveaway. Right after Sept 11 2001, the Dutch government sent 1 million bulbs to New York to support New Yorkers after the horror of the WTC murders, and NYers for Parks has been carrying forth this great program ever since! @NY4P
Thanks to everyone who came out on a sunny and not-so-sunny day for bulbs and native seed to plant in their communities, to our dedicated volunteers, and to @nycparks for their partnership.
Special thanks to 34th Ave Open Streets Coalition for hosting us on the open street, and to @LIUNA1010 for tabling at our rainy Staten Island distribution!
The second round of Daffodil Project distributions took place this weekend at the 34th Avenue Open Street in Jackson Heights and Willowbrook Park on Staten Island!
“@NYCMayor [speaks about] streets as the envy of the world and re-upping Vision Zero,” said NY4P. “Reopening Freedom Drive in Forest Park flies in the face of that rhetoric. If it’s good enough for Central and Prospect Parks, it’s good enough for Queens”
