#COMINGSOON! “The State of Reentry Housing Policy: A Partnership for Just Housing Convening Report” details key findings and provides recommendations to local, state, and federal policymakers and advocates on how to expand housing opportunities for formerly incarcerated people, convicted people and their families.
#NLIHC is urging national, state, local, and Tribal organizations to join an organizational sign-on letter opposing a proposed U.S. Census Bureau rule change that threatens the accuracy and inclusivity of decennial census data. Accurate census data are essential to understanding communities’ needs and informing policies and resources that support low-income households and affordable housing. The letter focuses on the foreseeable negative impacts for housing policy if the proposed Census changes are adopted.
NLIHC urges organizations to sign on by 11:00 am ET on November 2, 2026, to help oppose the proposed rule and protect an accurate Census.

We’re excited to welcome Ta-Nehisi Coates, award-winning author and journalist, for a powerful conversation about systemic injustice, racial inequality, and the ongoing fight for housing justice.
Coates challenges us to confront the myths that shape our society and reckon with the difficult truths that continue to influence our lives. Through his writing and public conversations, Coates has explored the lasting impact of discriminatory housing policies, including the ways redlining and other forms of housing discrimination have shaped racial and economic inequality in America. His work invites us to examine how the legacy of these policies continues to affect communities today and why understanding this history is essential to building a more just future.
Join us at #Forum27 for a thought-provoking conversation that connects the past to the present, challenges our perspectives, and explores what it means to speak truth to power in the pursuit of a more equitable world: nlihc.org/events/2027-nlihc-…
