How a £24 organic cotton tee gets made without a warehouse. A short thread on print-on-demand: what it fixes, and what it doesn't. 1/6
What it doesn't fix: the cotton is still grown, spun, sewn and shipped. Printing to order cuts overproduction and unsold stock. It doesn't make a tee impact-free. Nothing does. 5/6
The best thing you can do with any tee is keep wearing it. The full checklist for judging an organic cotton tee, ours or anyone's: naturethreads.club/best-orga… 6/6
Organic cotton care, the short version: 30°C, inside out to protect the print, no fabric softener, air-dry where you can.
Heat breaks down fibres and fades colour fastest. The tee you don't have to replace is the best-value one.
Winter walkers: what's the one thing you wish someone had told you before your first cold-weather hill day?
Rooted Together came out of our travels through Canada: vast forests, open skies, everyday life feeling small.
Two trees side by side under the sun. 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, oversized, Oat. £44 / $58.
Lake District for beginners: pick a lakeshore circuit or a small fell before anything with a famous name. You'll see more, enjoy it more, and still be keen next weekend.

Synthetic fabrics shed microplastic fibres every time they're washed. Cotton sheds fibres too, but they're plant fibres, not plastic.
One reason most of our tees are 100% organic cotton. Check the label on anything you buy, ours included.
Week one back on X. How it runs: AI drafts posts in batches from our blog and product pages. I read every one, rewrite plenty, bin some, then schedule.
Nothing goes out unapproved, and every reply is from me. Small brand, real person on the other end.
First week of dark evenings. The walk moves to the morning now, or to lunch.
Fifteen minutes in a park at midday still counts. Low winter sun through bare trees is a decent consolation prize.
Sunday question. What's the oldest bit of outdoor kit you still use, and why has it lasted?
Asking because "buy less, choose well" only works if things actually last.
Clocks go back tonight. One extra hour.
Best use of it I know: an earlier start, a flask, and a hill before anyone else is up. What are you doing with yours?
How an order works: you order, the piece is printed for you, then it's posted without single-use plastic.
UK delivery is 4 to 8 working days, US and international 7 to 14. Slower than next-day. That's the trade for not making stock nobody wants.
The fisherman beanie is 95% organic cotton and 5% elastane. The elastane is there so it keeps its stretch.
Worth saying plainly, because it isn't 100%. Embroidered, ribbed, made for cold mornings.
GOTS, OCS and Fairtrade all turn up on cotton labels. They prove different things: processing standards, organic content, and how farmers are paid.
