For my @billboard debut, I had the honor of speaking with @utadahikaru about their new album, identity, and finding love. billboard.com/music/pop/hika…
Really incredible, in-depth, nerdy interview with Stuart Price about the making of CONFESSIONS II and their longterm creative partnership.
Feeling validated that my favorite (“Good for the Soul”) kicked off the creative process for the era.

As for the eight or so songs we haven’t heard yet: “Well, you just never know, do you? The best thing about good songs is they never die. They just find a way to present themselves at the right time.”

Can’t stop thinking about CRYSTAL LAKE.
Every October I basically spend my nights watching FRIDAY THE 13TH, HALLOWEEN and NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET lore/history/making-of videos, so it really came at the perfect time.
Some thoughts…
Even though the backstory sort of goes where I feared it would in a post-STRANGER THINGS world, I am surprisingly at peace with how it played out.
It also provides a (slightly more) cohesive explanation for Jason and the events of the increasingly absurd movies.
Every week my spirit is tested by clips from this podcast. I need to go for a walk.
(God bless Billy for his patience.)
Stayed up to binge the rest of Crystal Lake.
No spoilers / have a million thoughts, but I appreciate the big (machete) swings the writers took to expand the lore for a franchise that has taken insane turns / was stuck in legal hell for years.
Loved the many, many references.
