Grandson #2 (almost 28 months) was being read to by his Dad tonight. It was The Snail on the Whale. "Daddy, where's the whale? Where is he?"
Daddy said, "Wait, let's turn the page and see."
"There he is! He was hiding in the book, Daddy!"

"This morning, the first All Ireland since 1949 that my father won't be attending, I'm sure he's sitting somewhere in heaven in a commentary box about to start commentating on this match..." To close, Éamonn Ó Muircheartaigh's warm tribute to his father, the incomparable Mícheál
Sooooo proud of my Dad. Great to see painstaking, meticulous work that he puts so much care into being recognised @charlesroche
JRR Tolkien said 'I wisely started with a map' and he wrote his stories afterwards.
Too many history works treat maps as an annoyance to be packed into the appendix of a book if they are there at all.
The UCC team that brought us the brilliant Atlas of the Irish Revolution put maps first and built the narrative around it.
The same team are behind The Irish Civil War Fatalities project. Each fatality is matched to an exact location and a click brings up the fatality involved.
Well done to all concerned. @AndyBielenberg @heleneokeeffe @UCCHistory

Because these things can get forgotten, it might be worth a reminder that parliament voted on recognition of a Palestinian State in 2014. And overwhelmingly backed it (majority of 262).

I didn't catch this man's name, but he said it all very eloquently. His father would be proud. The most sense I've heard spoken about the inquiry, great interview @BBCNews
What a great morning. I have my very own GIObabies. Like improv ducks to water. Thanks @GIO_Glasgow @unabass #proudmammy
This was so beautiful last night. Good for the soul. Great for new Irish work to have such a fabulous platform and audience. And a poem about a horse's fart. Bravo 👏👏👏
