The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 44 y/o Oscar Mendoza Verdugo. Oscar was last seen on September 8, 2026, leaving his property in Whispering Ranch in Wittman, Arizona.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 63 y/o Rosemary Caratachea. Rosemary was last seen on September 1, 2026, leaving her residence near the intersection of North 377th Avenue and West Van Buren Street in Tonopah, Arizona.

On 9/17/26 MCSO Aviation Division rescued an elderly couple who had become trapped in flash flooding.
Despite the extreme weather, high wind gusts and lightning, MCSO personnel battled the elements and successfully rescued the trapped persons.
Reminder, crossing flooded roadways can have dangerous and many times deadly outcomes.
MCSO urges the public to be aware of monsoon storms, stay up to date with weather alerts and avoid flooded areas.

This evening, Sheriff Jerry Sheridan joined the Fountain Hills community for a 9/11 Remembrance Service, joined by members of the MCSO Honor Guard and a flyover from the MCSO Aviation Unit.
MCSO Animal Crimes Unit seized a Cane Corso this afternoon following an investigation into severe neglect and abuse in South Buckeye.
The dog was found without adequate food, water, shelter, or necessary medical care. The dog is being transported to an emergency veterinary…1/2
On 8/25/26 a citizen called to report suspected animal neglect at a residence in Wittman. MCSO Patrol deputies responded and observed dogs without water and one deceased dog. Deputies called the Animal Crimes Unit to conduct further investigation.
