This happened yesterday—@blackenterprise featured me in an interview from their conference last year with @ashlei_stevens!
Everyone faces separation, of not multiple, during their careers. Most won't prepare and market themselves as such.
Job search is best done as a lifestyle, not a seasonal activity or event.

Recently, @CaraDanielleB sent me a message to comment on the below @MoneyLion @AOL article on future million dollar jobs.
Weeks before, I actually had wrote thoughts about the demand, not titles, for AI and security verification.

I’m looking forward to seeing progress made as LinkedIn and the FBI address the parasite issue on the platform. It shows LinkedIn is taking the issue beyond the maintenance aspect of job scams.
S/O to the "Nothing Felt Wrong" podcast on YouTube.
I was invited to be a guest on the @SIRIUSradio show @RoadDogTrucking on Ch. 146. I was thrilled to meet the legend Dan Ronan. Truckers need love, but they also need to job search safely and strategically.
The FTC reports fraud losses among 60+ y.o. are higher than those among younger people. The unfortunate loneliness seniors experience leaves them vulnerable to “taking a chance” when employment is out of reach.

Today marks 15 years of my blog, "The Voice of Job Seekers."
Somehow, it was a voice people wanted to hear. It is still for the unemployed, underemployed, and the underappreciated.
It's still running in the wild.

Bryce Magorian got through the hardest parts of his job search by practicing "stubborn optimism," or choosing to find something good in every step, such as a nice conversation. In this job search success story, learn how that mindset carried him through. ow.ly/yhLg50ZiSjq
And outta nowhere, @blackenterprise publishes a new article by Kenneth Meeks that cites my work (and added “The Job Scam Report) and includes the interview I did three years ago. Grateful for the additional exposure.

This one thing makes scammers good marketers: they are well aware of life-changing events. Graduation season, military separations, and layoffs are advertised everywhere and shared by victims of layoffs.

To the very few who have witnessed the company you work for act unethically: if you sign off on a layoff package and you plan to file a lawsuit, don’t take the offer.
I shared this w/ J.R. Duren in an article published by the @Independent.

Job searching isn't a solo sport. On this bonus episode of "Find Your Dream Job," my guest Catherine Van, a DEIB leader at Oregon Community Foundation, shares how leaning on her network and reframing her skills opened doors she didn't expect. 🎧 ow.ly/q3L750YUH29
Here’s more proof job scams aren’t a fad, but a pandemic.
The Guardian also reported UK recruitment scam reports more than doubled from 2022 to 2024, while Lloyds Banking Group reported a 237% rise in job scams from January to August last year.

In this week's "The Voice of Job Seekers" podcast, @MrKevinDTurner and I discuss the ups and downs (more downs) with @LinkedIn's ability to keep up with the infestation of bad actors impersonating HR, recruiters, headhunters, etc.
