there a reason why they choose to ban ascent. 1 They had poor results playing against double senti comps on that map which is what GE was running. 2 They change their comp hoping whatever GE was prepping for Summit is thrown out the window and they get completely stunned by it.
WHY AM I GETTING THE ELO TERRORIST BRO SEND HELP

Another *sidenote* to make on this- A player who has ALOT of insight in scrims does not mean they have valuable insight. There are many cases of players who mislead teams and make everything harder to accomplish. Being vocal isn’t enough, pointing out issues in practice isn’t enough, you need to know ball. And if nobody knows ball on the roster wrap it up. Especially if there is someone there & they kinda got over ruled by someone else or everyone else on the team.
I saw a few posts & interviews discussing in-game leader responsibilities & who is best fit for the role. Specifically in the cases of Envy & Furia that have changed leadership multiple times and talked about that in interviews. During those interviews something stood out to me, the players really never talked about the real value of a great leader, usually they referred to play style differences, roles etc.
To elaborate my opinion in the shortest way possible, it comes down to this:
Leading the team in the actual game during match time is extremely easy. Yes it sounds insane to say that but it is true. However, you get to that point of "easiness" by proper preparation and small details in scrims and practice. When looking into these cases, teams are actually struggling in the server itself to call rounds - which either means players / coaches (respectfully) are dumb as bricks or they are simply ineffective at utilizing practice time to set the team up for success.
This is why certain players (even non-igl) find such strong success consistently.
- Nismo in T2. Historically was never the IGL on his *previous* successful rosters, however his teams were always great. This is because he is providing valuable insight, direction & solutions in practice time. He is the person that visually sees issues, has an arsenal of issues memorized that he is now "pre-firing" basically taking pre-emptive measures to get rid of it before it happens etc.
THIS is what you need on a roster. It can come from the IGL, coach players etc. But this trait is what builds the absolute best leaders. Another example is Ethan in T1.
So when you consider this and apply it to the case of Furia or Envy or ANY team with these frequent IGL changes. If you are changing leadership in the server based on in-game performance you almost definitely have a structural issue, a practice issue or some other hinderance rather than an IGL problem. And the worst part of this is that you will slot a "vocal" player / smart player in game on the IGL role and think that will fix your issues. But once again, that is a band-aid fix if you are in the game against good teams and you do not have an arsenal of ideas and strats and approaches developed and practiced to call from you should lose the game no matter how strong of an IGL you are.
For perspective, you could slot in the best IGL on planet earth into one of these teams as a sub for a match and they might make a small difference, but over the course of 10 games with no practice in between it will not matter they will still be shit. BUT if you put ethan & bonkar on one of these rosters, gave them 1 month to practice then all the sudden you could put the same IGL lets say artzin in the game calling the strats / ideas and all the sudden he would have a 10x easier time calling the game and they would be great.
TLDR
Frequent IGL issues = Structural issue and/or no players on roster who impact practice effectively to create ideas & solve issues.
